 Its cool as **** when you think about it. He wakes up, has breakfast and maybe a bottle of mineral water and goes to the weigh in smiling and laughing. Meanwhile others are sweating and starving to make their weight limit. He then proceeds to kick the ass of fighters naturally bigger than him.

Full fledged welters weigh at around 160lbs on fight night. Pac is far from it. He can easily make 140lbs but there are no big fights in that weight.

Pac's not a "full fledged welter weight" by any stretch. I'm inclined to believe that he can still make 135 if he wanted to.

I would agree if he was de-hydrating himself to make 147, but hes not.

I was going to create a thread in similar regards to this. I was wondering whether the last 4 out of 5 fights spent at WW have allowed him [Pacquiao] to fully acclimatize to the demands of being a welterweight, and whether Floyd has made a mistake in allowing Pacquiao 3 extra fights up at this weight.

He weighed in on fight night for Margarito a single pound heavier than he was in 2008 for David Diaz at 135. 135-150, fight night weight 147-148. :good

I'm confused about exactly what you're confused about me saying, sp. :blood Understand, I am, literally, an elite technician.

So you're just disregarding the fact that Pacquiao has added muscle to his frame since his move up to Welter?

He doesn't make 135lbs comfortably at all.
He weighed in at 144lbs vs Margarito after he halted Ariza's methods of getting him above 147lbs (he was 148lbs but was sluggish)...he then resumed normal training without the extra calories and hit 144lbs for the weigh in. I would agree that he could make 140lbs at this point...but more than 2 bouts? No.

He has grown in to the division and that is clear.

Mayweather probably has made a mistake. He should have caught Pacquiao probably after the Cotto bout. Pacquiao, like I have repeated in this thread, has grown into the weight, is comfortable at the weight. Similar (but probably quicker) to how Mayweather grew into the weight. I would class Mayweather as a full blown Welter now, but maybe not even when he fought DLH.

no I mean the point your trying to make?

so your saying pac could jump back down to 135/140

    or

    he is a settled 147'er

I'm not disregarding anything. I dont do that.

The muscle Pac has added since the second Marquez fight would naturally take him up to 135/140. The rest is just the result of not making weight (ie water, food and what not). Its just extra weight/body fat. He could strip down like Rios is tonight and make the lower weights.

He has added muscle to his frame though, if you are accustomed to making a certain weight (a higher weight), it is hard to return to a lower weight. It would be a struggle to say the least for Pacquiao to make 135lbs.

Give it up. Pac weighed 147lbs on fight night against D. Diaz and he weighed 148lbs against Margo. The junior welters weigh more than Pac on fight night. What more proof do you need to understand that Pac is a JWW?

Just look at the poll and submit to the collective wisdom of ESB.
