Pac walks around at 155. I think he is a full welter now. If he wasn't then he shouldn't have a problem fighting marquez at 140. His camp says they will only fight marquez at 147.

I don't agree. If he were to ever make 135lbs again, I would be 100% certain he would not stay there for more than that 1 bout (which makes it fairly irrelevant to make that weight again).

140lbs - he wouldn't stay there for more than 1 or 2 bouts.

He has grown into the Welter division, ignoring the weight. It's a natural progression.

He is being classed as a Light Middle beater by a number of people on this forum...a Light Middle beater who can still make 135lbs...it's not that simple at all.

The Jr Welters weigh more...whats your point? Pacquiao moved up to Welter because the better match-ups were at Welter. The more significant match-ups were at Welter. The more money was in the Welterweight division.

Pacquiao does not move between 135lbs and 147lbs as easy as people claim.

If anyone has ever moved up a weight class in there life, had more than 2 bouts there, then tried to move back down to the previous weight class, it's not as easy as it looks...despite fight night weights.

Edit: Collective wisdom of ESB? Have you seen the General Forum over the last 2-3 weeks?

True welter in the sense that he weighs a full 147? I still see him as being able to make Junior welter easily. They say he gets to eat whatever the hell he wants and have a full breakfast before the weigh-in so I'm not sold on him being 147 all the time.

A true welterweight doesnt aim to come in at 144/145 pounds.

Thats after eating god knows how many thousands of calories a day

He did say he did it to have the speed advantage. The calories he eats IMO is not to gain weight but to support his training regimen.
Pac is a true but unconventional fighter at WW. In fact, the best active fighter at WW.

He fights exclusively at welterweight, that makes him a welterweight. The phrase full-fledged though would imply that he is a proper sized welterweight, when really he isn't even a large JR welter on fight night.

A full fleged welterweight probably wouldn't enter the ring below 154.

he is fighting now at weterweight so that's his weight class. but he is small at the weight that he usually tip the scales at 142-145 and would be 147-148 on fight night.

His body has acclimatized into the ww weight range because of the fights there, but IF after diaz he stayed or gradually moved up into 140 range he could easily be fighting 140 right now. I agree with AnthonyW that it's not easy to lose set muscles and go down. He could, but he might not be as effective.

You could say that the DLH fight is to blame somewhat as to why we didn't see Pac more at 140.
