I love Chico... "BUT" H2H Edwin Rosario would have KHTFO. Ramirez would have beat him. (Even that version) Taylor beats him. Uncle Roger prob KO's Chico aswell??? Ect... Come on man...
Slipping and rolling? I'd say he was the best ever. His defense was better overall, his movement more fluid, he got the leather off faster and had a complete mastery of feinting and integrating offense and defense. I like Chavez's ability to cut the ring, pure in-fighting skill (chest-to-chest, phone booth type combat) and body punching. He also tended to focus a lot more on these particular areas. His chin probably too... I don't see the cleanest, most unexpected left hook (even from DeJesus) dropping Chavez once, much less twice though Duran was never really hurt.
You know damn well Chavez was done when Oscar pummeled him. Whitaker was superior to Chavez higher than 140 that's obvious, but 135 Chavez was at his best. Why did Floyd give Castillo a rematch? Because he knew Castillo got robbed and beat Floyd that's why. 42-1 that why Floyd had to give him a rematch live with that. No shame losing to Castillo. Johnston, Floyd's daddy in the amateurs also got beat by Castillo. All the best fighters in Floyds career, Oscar, Shane, Chico, and Hatton too old, too small, too limited. You can't tell me with a straight face in the condition Floyd fought them those fighters would beat a prime Meldrick Taylor? Only legit win is against Corrales the other ones they need an asterik. Corrales better than Taylor, Camacho, Rosario? Hell no. He was great by todays standards, but not even sure if he'd beat LaPorte or Uncle Rog. They were very good in their own right.
