This is about as bad of a matchup for Roy as possible at this weight. A man who is bigger, hits harder, has better fundamentals, better chin, and faced MUCH sterner competition at the weight. Both are unorthodox, so that is a wash. Roy's only edge is in speed. It won't be enough. Roy gets caught eventually, and it is over.

I think in a hypothetical head-to-head, it's fairest to put Jones v. middleweights. I honestly don't see him beating many great 175s. Heck, I don't think he beats Braxton!

Spinks for me but the Eddie Davis fight has me second guessing a little bit.

True. But speed and reflexes are the only things Roy had over Mike. Mike had EVERYTHING else including all of the intangibles

I see your point, Robert. But the same can be said about the 1st Griffin fight.

This is true too. But we still need to consider the facts as well.

Michael just brings too much to the table. If Roy had a chin, then maybe we could start discussing but he obviously does not have one

Yes. Your point on speed is overstated regardless as Spinks was never really known for his "speed". He never "relied on his speed". It was one of his lesser factors truth be told.

Coming from the biggest Roy fan here, even I've always favored Spinks in this matchup.

    Spinks KO 11.

    It's a laughable claim.

I believe you to be a fine poster that makes some excellent points but, quite frankly, there is 0 evidence that Roy hit harder than Michael. In fact, according to what happened in their careers, the opposite is true. And just what does the sentence mean that Roy has a style advantage over Michael?
