Each fan will have to decide for themselves. Some will watch, some wont.

As for me, I wont watch a cheater.

Instead of looking for loopholes have a look at the situation and the fact that he had loaded gloves. **** any loopholes the **** doesnt deserve to fight again, its basically assault with a deadly weapon!

All this bull**** about "trace" substances and "molecules" doesnt mean ****, if they were hard they were hard, regardless of how much of the substances were found!

I'm no lawyer, but "calcium and sulfur" doesn't prove a damned thing. If they can't actually prove the presence of either hardened plaster or powdered plaster material, I could see Margarito going the "libel" route and using the embarrassment of the situation as leverage to shorten the suspension, but that's not proving his "innocence".

One problem for the CSAC is that in all likelihood, Margo's infraction was based on using extra padding that had become hardened with use and would become further hardened or weighted by water during the course of the fight. But from almost the beginning, they have implied they KNEW of a foreign substance as well. It looks like Team Margo is calling their bluff on the substance point.

These are all technicalities though, and they do nothing to make me forget the fact that something was very, very wrong with Margarito's wraps that night. If someone has the entire CSAC jumping through hoops simply to keep Margarito inactive, then boxing is even more corrupt than we know it is.

Umm, did you see the photos of the deadly weapon you refer to?

It looks like gauze.......just gauze..or maybe wet gauze....not hardened gauze or plaster of paris.

You keep screaming that Margarito cheated.
One must remember wraps were taken off and new ones replaced them with the commission watching along with richardson.
Margarito got his ass handed to him fair and square.........there was no cheating.
Thus cheating can never be proven. Unless you know something that the commission and millions of boxing fans don't know..........

    Do you?

Should things play out the way you say.........a Cotto win over Clottey........a Margarito vs Cotto ppv will do record numbers.
It would be a massively HUGE fight of epic proportion.

All the people claiming that they won't watch it ( if it happens )will be the first ones buying ppv.
I can't think of one single boxing fan who would not want to see this or have interest in it.

You know what people don't want the facts no matter what they are.

So many people disliked Marg before this now they feel they have the right to.

The facts are sulfur and calcium are found in many common items that a boxer would use.

The fact also is that Plaster of Paris comes from Calcium sulfate which is a natural mineral.

That when heated to 375 degrees celsius becomes Calcium sulfate hemihydrate which when mixed with water release heat and energy to harden.

I think a proffessional lab would know the difference.

there is maybe a handful of posters on here who actually have an idea of what margo is accused of and how what is known does not really add up. the majority just dont want to hear it because they jumped on the wagon even before they tied the horse to it and now your too far from the station.
it is not that difficult to prove if it was plaster or not by someone with their resourses. by now we should have heard " after further laboratory testing it was determined that the wraps did in fact contain bits of plaster". the reasons why this hasnt happened will differ depending on which side of the mob your on.
me personally, i would like to know for the sake of truth.

I don't understand all the discussion.

It doesn't even matter if he had platser in there or not.

His handwraps included 'knucklepads' and these are illegal.

    End of story.

It's people like this, who here things, repeat stories and pass them off as truth.

Do you even follow boxing or is it something you just started watching.

    Every fighter has a knucklepad.

know your facts before you say dumb things.

    Great post.
The professional lab specifically stated " Traces of calcium and sulfer"

You would think a professional lab would be able too distinguish between Plaster of Paris, and trace elements, not even close to being the final chemical makeup of Plaster of Paris.
And accordingly tell the public the truth.

This is not what they have done.
Instead they have left doubt in the public's minds and have conditioned the public too believe that Margarito had plaster of paris in his hand wraps while offering little proof other than trace elements of common substances.

If I were Margafrito and company, I to would appeal this.
With exception to the haters/lynch mobs, the public would like the truth of the matter one way or the other.
Now that both sides have **** in the bed...........they should be the ones to sleep in it...........not the public.

Was it Plaster of Paris...........OR NOT?

Obviously the Lab did everything they could do in order to prove Margarito did in fact use Plaster of Paris..............and the best they could come up with is " Trace elements"

I feel strongly that a good attorney presenting this argument, based on the commissions accusations and rhetoric, may have a good chance of overturning the suspension.

On the flip side the commission will not want egg on its face.........so no matter what is presented, may not overturn anything unless forced by a court of law which could well take longer than the suspension's time frame.

Margarito could do his time.........come back after his suspension is over........never throw a punch in professional boxing again...........and still make mega millions through a lawsuit contending that the commission destroyed his career.

    Man wouldn't that be something.
