audley waz to me a classic case of not havin the commintment (not blamin him one bit) to take hiz pro career to the top level i wouldnt be surprised if audley figured cuss of lewis's success hiz path to the top would be alot easier then it turned out being personally lewis alwayz struck me as having quicker witz about him than audley
I think people always had their suspicions, Johnny Nelson certainly did as he wrote in his book that he saw fear in Audley's eyes at a press conference, and the Williams figh proved it to us all.
If there is one thing that Harrison's career shows, it's that skills are not enough. You gotta have a CHIN. Fraudley had a glass jaw, and he knew it - so he was scared to engage ANYONE above the tomato can level. I would be too, particularly considering that even some of those cans rocked him!!!!
-his chin -sluglike workrate -inability to take a step up in opponent -delusional self belief -lack of heart -over rated ability -gold medal delusions of grandeaur -greed -danny williams that do?
Didn't he have a good moan to the press about 6 months or so back about when Haye destroyed him in sparring before Audley fought Guinn?
He just doesn't have the 'edge' that a fighter needs. Once all of the pre fight talk is done, and its time to step in that ring, a fighter needs to have a look deep into there soul for an answer for the potential **** storm that stands in the opposite corner of the ring. The answer a fighter needs is "i'm ****ing having this". The answer Audley gets from deep down is "**** me, my arse has just left the building" Apollo Creed said it best - "Eye of the tiger". Unfortunately for Audley, this is something that he has never, or will never have.
Wasn't Audley kinda old when he started boxing? If I'm not mistaken he was close to 30 when he had his first pro bout. He never developed the comfort or mentality of a fighter, and on top of that, he's chinny. They gave him a bunch of money upfront...It was a train wreck waiting to happen.
