I really respect Austin Trout's attitude after his loss to Canelo. He didn't let the loss damage his confidence and said he will come back again and "this wasn't the last of him". This was the attitude of past champions after their first losses, Thomas Hearns, Muhammad Ali, Evander Holyfield. They just bounced right back and achieved glory again and their loss was forgotten amongst the victories. I think Trout will do the same. [yt]Dc9U7uh7i0Y[/yt]
of course he will. Trout can fight and will learn from this. he only got more respect by losing, at least he stepped up, which is more than can be said for most guys in the sport these days
Definitely. What a great attitude this guy displayed. This loss (I use the term loss loosely cuz it could have went either way) made me more of a fan of his than the win against Cotto. If he had a bit more pop in his punches then he'd definitely be a complete fighter, but based on skills/ will alone he beats most 154 pounders. Regardless I think I got to support the guy no matter who he fights.
I'd love to see him bounce back, but Al Haymon will need to want it for it to happen. Let's face it, Austin isn't a huge draw, and he's so risky, it'll be a challenge for him to get another big fight.
No he didn't. Even he's accepted the truth so should you. Trout is a classy guy and I hope he gets more opportunities to prove himself.
Why would he let it damage his confidence? He didn't take a beating, it wasn't a shut out. There's no shame in losing a very, very close fight. Another 3 judges might have seen it a different way and given him the nod. He'll do big things in the sport yet.
He was knocked down, his legs were wobbled, Canelo won a decisive unanimous decision. 115-112, 118-109, 116-111. i'm not saying 118-109 was the right score, but the right guy won. Trout admitted defeat himself. Canelo had the more impressive combinations and power punches by far. Trout can certainly bounce back, though.
Of course he will. He lost a decision in a "could have gone either way" kinda fight. Only thing he can never do is use the bogus Floyd/Bradley/Broner gimmick of having never lost on paper. But his talent remains, so he probably will have a fine career.
What do you think? Haven't seen him surface since the loss, he needs to get back in the public eye and start reeling the fans in imo.
