Tom little would probably beat Tupou. But Browne is that bad that I wouldnt be surprised if Tupou gets him outta there. A motivated Alex leapai would beat Browne IMO.

Well i thought even a punch drunk Briggs would at least make it interesting for a few rounds. It wasn't until the shirts came off in the ring, and I saw the state of Briggs chassis, that I knew I's made a big mistake running my mouth. The guy probably didnt even spar in 3 yrs and was simply trying to pay off some heavies that were probably after him. The same heavies who told him to go down in the first after spreading bets

    * Tim Tszyu after his Moscow venture unlikely can be ready for proposed Oct 31 card Qudos Arena. However Matt Rose has been busy and the St Mary Card Nov 9 hopefully shown on Fox instead.

    * Jayde Mitchell having a warm up fight at LHW Sept 14 for his Fox co headline show Nov
23 with Brock Jarvis. I hope Peter Mitrevski manager for Daniel Lewis has similar modus
operandi for matching Lewis with a Fijian opponent who has been stopped in three times
in his last four bouts and PM has plans to put Lewis on Opetaia / Liam Wilson Fox show Nov.

Hoping we see Junior Tszyu back in action before the year is out. I'd be concerned about the reasons why not if we don't. Preferably against a yardstick international opponent. The alternative is to match him with an unknown international opponent who ticks some boxes (i.e. Boxrec top 50 & IBF & WBO top 15).

Interesting that Foxsports are going to be headlining shows with Jayde Mitchell. Presumably they want someone from Melbourne who they can get behind & build up. Until last weekend, all the best drawcards in the country were from north of the border.

They need to keep Daniel Lewis busy through any means they can. A fight this month will move him to 4 and 0. Hopefully they can squeeze another couple in before the year is out, including a television fight against someone decent.

Finally, another word on Michael Zerafa. I really think he can win a world title at Junior Middle next fight if they get someone out here to fight him. He's 27 years old, in his prime, boxed beautifully last start & did 12 hard rounds with a world class opponent on the other side of the world a couple of fights back. They need to strike while the iron is hot. Get him a world title fight out here asap. Pay one of those Junior Middleweight world champions to come out here & fight him. Preferably that old bloke who won a strap last weekend. He won't be going home with it if he fights Zerafa in Melbourne or Bendigo before the year is out.

Foxsports is looking for a drawcard out of Victoria. Get Zerafa a world championship belt & they'll have one.

He could defend it against Horndog in a rematch, against Dennis Hogan & against the likes of Junior Tszyu & Daniel Lewis. Sports fans in this country (not just boxing fans) would lap that up.

Not a bad little card there the Lucas Browne one.

Someone told me this guy was on the radar for Tszyu if other fights didn't materialize.

    https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/517865

He is ranked in the top 10 in the IBF.

I guess that makes some sense to consolidate his ranking but I'm skeptical of that mail. Doesn't seem like a very sellable fight.

Is Daniel Lewis still looking at a fight in the U.S in the near future?

Would it benefit him to relocate there you think??

Yeah, they need to be careful with bringing out unknown opponents for Junior Tszyu. Particularly when they are selecting bigger venues for his fights. The reason his last couple of shows were successful is b/c his opponents were known quantities who played their parts in promoting the fights. Bring some unknown out here who can't speak English & it's a different dynamic. In saying that, the guy you linked to would be okay.

I reckon Daniel Lewis should stay put. Presumably if there are a few televised shows between now & the end of the year, he'll get a start on one of them. Over in America, he's an anonymous nobody. Based here, he should be able to build on what he started with the Wade Ryan fight.

Yep , that's exactly the sort of fella Young Tim should be fighting imo , as you said mate if he gets passed him he will STEADILY climb the rankings , not top 3 where it would give him an over inflated ranking but sniffing around the top 10 wouldn't be a bad place to be at this stage in his career .

Hey Josey I was recently thinking about Andre Ward's career and wanted to know who you think would have won between Joe Calzaghe-Andre Ward prime-prime at 168 ?

Hello Francis I hope you are well & Wow what an entertaining scrap that would have been , personally i feel it's too close to call100 % one way or another and basically a toss up , both these blokes share so many characteristics & attributes ie strong at 168lbs , durable with Rock solid Vera Lynn's , both fit as **** clean living ( at the time of their careers ) and genuine good all round professionals, over 12 rounds I'd go with Ward possibly but under old school rules of 15 rounds I'd definetly take Chosen Joe . Btw Francis the venue would play a large part in the outcome , Joe fought abroad during his early and late career but to my knowledge I can't recall Andre fighting outta 'O' Town .

What's yours and any other posters view on the fight ? I realise this is a Aussie forum but have grown over the years to realise some Austrslian fight fans have an incredible knowledge of the sport and their opinions I'd really be interested in reading .

Thanks for the reply mate. I totally agree with you on this fantasy fight. Too close to call. Both guys were amazing fighters at 168.

On another tangent I would pick prime Roy Jones over both at 168. What are your thoughts on that ?

Prime Roy Jones is the best fighter I have ever seen and would pick him over anyone in history at 168.

Thanks and I would tend to agree reference Roy , no one beats a prime Roy @ 168lbs in my opinion , that kid was something else ,he had it all in spades so much so he went all the way to heavy weight , kinda like a present day Mickey walker in that he competed at the weight v Schmeling and was not just a fat middle who fought there . Loved Roy and it stings seeing fighters who couldn't lace his gloves let alone belong in the ring with him having a W against their colunm over him

    * Word is the Hornet will continue.
    * Michael Zerafa is now WBA no 6 at MW.
    * Opetia camp has put out a challenge to Kane Watts WBA no 10 to fight Nov 16.
Just awaiting confirmation while negotiations continue. This bout could have huge
ramifications for the winner. As Opetia is WBA no 11 and the Tszyu vs Cowboy
both had similar ranking and the winner Tszyu is now IBF no 8 with 1 and 2 vacant.
