Yeah good point Zerafa has poorly managed his career and wasted a lot of his prime. If he was fit and firing there is a good chance he would set too much of a pace for this older version of Lara.

Dude. Good and bad on this. I wish I didn't see it because I'm now going to have to load up sooner rather than later. I purposely refrained from checking odds until closer to fight day.

The good, I expected he would be around this price and that's a steal. He should be $1.87 and even that is ridiculous because he's going to win and in all likelihood knock Lara the **** out.

Get on it mate. I'll be loading up on this. 2500.

    Nah. No way MP.

I'll tell you this. Zerafa is an ultimate professional and a gym rat. He's obsessed but in a good way and you have to be to make it to the top. The ****s a self absorbed mother ****er but that's a good thing. He's got a massive ego, but so he should. Look at how lean he always is and I believe him when he says he hasn't had a day off in years. Even if that's slightly exaggerated which I doubt it is, he might miss one day here or there but would make up for it by training for 6-7 hours the next. This is his whole life and who he is. What he's been training for.

    He'll kill Lara.

Fair enough mate I just think that inactivity in general is bad for fighters all the sparring and training doesn't quite equal the real thing but I guess with Lara being older and just as inactive should be advantage enough for Zerafa to win. Zerafa also has a lot more to lose than Lara because if he does win that would give Tszyu a reason to fight him and it would be an even bigger fight than what it initially was going to be a few years ago. I will be putting some money on Zerafa at that price.

Garth Wood btw absolute gentlemen and champion.

I don't believe the '' bad '' things that he's been accused of. Put it this way, what ever he has apparently done, those that he did it '' to '' have did 10 times worse.

I'll always back him. No lies will dictate my perception of that great man. I don't care what people say.

Mateo Tapia signed with No Limit.

Should address his inactivity. Still not too late but man longer he waits the harder it gets ...

If Zerafa struggled to land a good shot on Creati then Lara is going to give him fits

Quality fighter who hasn't been featured enough on Australian television. Not sure about him campaigning at Middleweight given he's always looked good at Super Middle but I guess that brings into play fights with the likes of Michael Zerafa & The Headsplitter. We can look forward to those.

Interesting how the dominos are falling wrt the Australian television landscape. No Limit continue to gobble up most of the best talent. They've also signed up Toese Vousiutu which is significant b/c I think outside of the Tszyu's, the H/W division is going to be a focal point of Australian boxing in the next few years.

Expect a mad scramble for the best of our Olympians to bolster the television boxing content of the different networks.

The problem with Channel 7 (7-plus) and Channel Nein (Stan) is whether they have enough quality fighters on the roster to deliver decent content. Channel Nein in particular have demonstrated that they don't know what they're doing. They can hype the hell out of shows all they want but if they don't feature fighters who have the potential to make waves on the international stage, people won't tune in.

That leaves the Tasman fighters group who have some of the best talent in the country but limited means of showcasing it domestically with Fast Eddie not making good on his stated intention of promoting shows domestically.

Following on from the post above, there are a lot of decent fighters who aren't on Australian TV, but who should be.

Among the big men, both David Nyika & Alex Leapai Jr appear to be with Noel Thornberry. One of the networks should be talking to him about how to showcase them properly.

A guy like Teremoana Jr has massive potential. He has some qualities even our best big men don't have & went back to the amateurs b/c without television support, it was impossible to find decent opponents.

At Light Heavy, Paulo Aokuso has featured on Stan but they need to get him matched up properly. Conor Wallace is with Tasman Fighters and the same sentiment applies.

Mateo Tapia is our best Super Middle and is now with No Limit & about to begin campaigning as a Middleweight. As are the Headsplitter & presumably now Michael Zerafa although it's a bit hard to work out what he's up to. The Tszyu boys are the best at Junior Middle & are also with No Limit.

The best in the country at Welter is Stevie Spark who announced his retirement last year. If someone is interested in showcasing one of our top half-dozen talents, they should un-retire him.

Liam Paro is fighting overseas with DAZN, George is fighting here with an international promoter who is somehow able to circumvent the No Limit monopoly arrangement.

At Junior Lightweight, Jackson England is to headline with one of the new operators. Paul Fleming appears to be a free agent while Nathaniel May has appeared recently on No Limit shows.

Liam Wilson & Sam Goodman are at world class level & are with No Limit.

Dana Coolwell is with Tasman Fighters while Vegas Larfield is now with No Limit (although hasn't been sighted since he unexpectedly took an L).

The Moloney brothers are with an overseas promoter while Alex Winwood isn't on television but should be - especially as he closes in on a world title in an historically short timeframe.

So what does it all mean? Despite all the talent we've got & the different broadcasters wanting to get in on the action, I think only the Tszyu boys, George K with government support & high-profile footballer fights are able to turn a profit fighting in this country. There is big money available overseas in Saudi which the likes of Jai Opetaia & Justis Huni are & will be collecting.

I'm pretty excited about what we can do in the Heavyweight division which is why I think the television networks should be talking to Noel Thornberry & making a play to sign Teremoana Jr when he resumes his professional career. Opetaia, Huni & Toese Vousiutu have platforms on which to progress their careers. The challenge for all of them, the television networks & their promoters will be to ensure they get matched-up correctly in order to develop to their full potential. It will be interesting to see how that goes.

Jackson Jon England vs Jamel Herring

Good fight. Headliner on that South Australian card. Good to see Joel Camo back and as for Brubaker I have no interest. He was washed up in 2021 if not sooner after Spark knocked his Spark out ( not literally but it sounds cool ) Wes Capper still at it against Sergei who Wade Ryan belted up on the Tszyu-Mendoza undercard. The rest of the event is a circus act and those footballers were finished as Footballers over 15 ****ing years ago. It's about who you are, not what you've done for the most part. Why not have Barney Rubble fight Ronald McDonald and Fred Flinstone can be the referee. Sheeeeeeyet.

Agree on Sparky. He should still be fighting and the Sport has ****ed him over.

He should be boxing now. The sport of boxing can go and get ****ed how it chews out the good and propels the bad because of the ****ing green.

BTW Isn't Nyika fighting in Saudi Arabia? That's a great moment for him and good on him for getting massive exposure.
