Anything is a possibility with the IBF. They stripped him for not facing Briedis when he was out injured and had written to the IBF informing them he was happy to face the winner.

Opetaia will also be fighting on Riyadh Season events. I’m sure he will get the belt back when required from whoever temporarily holds it for him, when required.

It’s not Zuffa unwilling to work with the IBF here.

Hi lads - I watched our three top women amateurs in action in Bulgaria over the last week. Very strong tournament with plenty of Eastern European nations represented (as well as Western ones). No gold medals which was a bit disappointing & may be the first consequence of losing the national team coach (technical lead) at the end of last year. Monique Suraci at Bantamweight continued her run of outs at International tournaments by being eliminated by a Kazakh in the first round. I thought she fought pretty well. So did one of the judges (from Brazil) who scored it to her but the other four went for the Kazakh. The most disappointing thing of losing in the first round of these international tournaments is that you don't then get the benefit of facing any further elite level competition which is the principal reason we are sending our fighters over there. Nothing wrong with her performance, but it was one & done in terms of experience gained. The other two fighters we sent were two of our medalists from last year's world championships. Each had two wins & a loss. Lekeisha Pergoliti faced three very good Light Middles in a row. She posted hard fought wins against an Uzbek & a German before bowing out in the semi against a Brit. The most important thing from the tournament was getting that high level international experience which she did. Emma Sue Greentree made the final at Middleweight after beating a Turk & a Kazakh on the way through, but lost to an Uzbek southpaw in the final. She was physically stronger than the Uzbek & punched harder but was out-skilled in the final which was a little disappointing. The ref not penalizing the Uzbek for intentional punches to the back of the head through the first two rounds didn't help either. I felt that was a winnable fight for her so like I said, a little disappointed we didn't get a result there.

 

Hoppa has called out Lucas Browne for a bare knuckle fight on the Bare Bones card on April 18th in Queensland

Interesting that there are two bare-knuckle shows on the same day, April 18th.
The other one, BKFC, is scheduled to be held in Townsville on 18/04.
Let's see if it goes ahead this time, as the previous attempt in Jan 26, didn't go ahead.

It's a great fight for Justis on paper. I don't like the fact that the other bloke has had a couple of steadiers since being pole-axed by Wardley & Justis hasn't had any. Plus it's over there. Our blokes obviously think form in boxing is like flicking a light switch. In the heavyweight division, it can be, so hoping for the best.

 

When I first saw this post I thought it was Choc and JWP were going to have a bare knuckle fight against each other.
Their boxing match was actually entertaining even though they were both well past it. I thought Choc got hard done by with the bogus knockdown and point deduction. Choc hit him with some absolute flush bombs JW always had an iron chin.

Zerafa has finally crawled out from under his rock and done an interview.

He claims he received 20 death threats within 48 hours.

Ironically, he still doesn't get why people were so pissed off with him. Could he really be that dumb?

 

I saw a snippet of the interview he is a dead set clown and would be better off keeping it shut and staying in hiding.
Nobody has any sympathy for him he cost a lot of people a lot of money. Obviously death threats are not good but there are consequences in life. When you are given that type of stage you have a responsibility to give it your all no matter how you feel. Instead of playing dumb he would be better off just admitting he dogged it.
