King has always been a wretched scumbag, but at least in years gone by he's been able to put on some terrific cards.

Since the mid-2000s, he's been an absolute joke. Barely putting on any cards and having his best fighters fight once a year. Why any fighter would sign with the current version of him is beyond me.

King is SHOT TO ABSOLUTE **** as a promoter.

But say what you want about King. Overall, he was Good for boxING... just
    Bad for boxERS

He robbed the **** out of his fighters, but generally made all the fights that everybody wanted to see. He was a fan friendly promoter.

I'll bet anything, that if King was involved in either the Bowe-Lewis negotiations or the Mayweather-Pacquiao negotiations, those fights would've happened.

I know that years ago when they had the middleweight `tounrament`, with Joppy, Tito etc., King tried to exclude Hopkins/ Upon seeing that wasn`t possible, series to see who the true middlweight champ would be, wasn`t complete without Hopkins. At one of the press conferences, Hopkins said,`they didn`t want to include me (King) but they couldn`t have this without me`.

Doesn't king have a few top cruisers left like Ola and Guillermo? And he's got his hands in some Euro action. King is going out and his terms not Hopkins'. If he wanted to be bigger he would. He's toned it down on his own accord. I think his passion to be top dog is gone but still wants some involvement. It's like a hobby, now. Something to keep him active and he is a widower. What's he gonna do, kick his feet and and s stop completely. Not his way. Hopkins ain't shutting King off. What a joke. But Nard will run with that. haha. Although I bet King isn't too happy with Cloud. I heard Cloud is now shoveling out King's horse stable in Ohio.

I don't really understand the animosity Hopkins has for King.

Hopkins got his two biggest purses while taking part in Kings mw tournament. he got 1m for Holmes and around 2.7m for Tito. A couple of years before that he was only making 100k per fight. He turned his back on Dibella to make another deal with King. That deal was for something like 6 fights where King agreed to pay him a minimum of 1m per fight and would try to get Hopkins a long term deal with HBO.

King always finds a way to get his hands in a fighter's pocket so I wouldn't be surprised to see him glom on to someone unexpected soon. Watch him show up in Mayweather's corner or something.
