Jones threw Rua off with all the stance switching. Rua primarily throws that right round to the left thigh.. Jones kept changing stances, and then he was throwing those little short kicks at Ruas left knee so he couldn't really set to throw the leg. He flustered, damaged and threw Rua's timing off. I think Rua's knees are only part of his problem. The other part is how good Jones is.
For Shogun, it was all downhill from the opening flying knee. It could have been a six second KO if Shogun didn't have an iron chin.
Are you kidding? How do you kick a man who's legs are longer than yours without getting kicked first? :huh I see you know as much about MMA as Boxing. :hey:rofl
That fight was over when Shogun was up against the cage after 4:00. Jones is the truth. Shogun is a true warrior.
What man? I hope this is a joke thread. Shogun was so outclassed in this fight it wasn't funny. You came up with this? I came over here to see what the MMA heads were saying and I see you here. I see you saying this?!? Hilarious! :rofl
Notice Shogun didn't have any problems recording the strongest kick ever recorded directly BEFORE the fight.
I know and that was recorded post surgery, but you see the mat at the Octagon is not condusive to recently operated knees, its too firm. Honestly, I am bewildered at what I am reading here esp. pre-fight. Its the fact that people doesnt understand wrestling at all as a base skill. Jones throwing Bader like a little boy, that kind of performance sent shockwaves to every wrestling community. You just dont see that. Ive been watching Jones rise and Rua since his Sobral fight and all I was asking before the fight is "how the hell is Rua going to pull this one off"?
In a word.. Yes. Surgery, time off, recovery does more hurt than help, but Bone's is the best striker and grappler at 205.
Rashad's chances don't look good, he better have something up his sleeve or it will be a long night....or a short night for him.
That's what I thought, nobody has been able to do any real damage to Jones at all. Maybe now the LHW belt will stay in somebody's hands instead of being thrown around like a hot potato. That belt has not been in anybody's hands for very long since Chuck had it years back.
