Forget going off balance, he’s not bigger because he has 40 plus fights with only two top fighters while claiming he is the champ. Plus one of those fights was a draw.
I don't think there's been a naturally stronger man in the history of the sport than Foreman. A guy who could rely wholly on his physicality to get the job done. Even old Foreman with his arm punches was a wrecking ball. I think Iron Mike would have done over old George but I can believe he was afraid though
It's a different era, apparently fights are hard to come by at heavyweight. Fury is fighting Schwarz and Joshua took on Miller. None of the big 3 feel ready for each other due to anxiety or greed. I haven't followed the business, everybody's got a theory on the blame. Big fights were just easier to make in the 70's I suspect. Wilder should have a better resume, part of that is 2 of the bigger fights in his career got pushed back (Ortiz) or totally cancelled (Povetkin). That's not really on him. And if he fought and beat a younger Povetkin than AJ did in a similar fashion, The separation of the big 3 would be even clearer. But that is alternate history. Bottom line, technically and stylistically Wilder and Foreman share a ton of similarites as fighters. Things George got praised for, Wilder catches hate for. It's just odd to me since George of the 70's would be one of the more hated fighters of the time for his cold persona.
Lol you watch one George Foreman fight and say he had no technique? Wilder is sloppy all the time. Ali has admitted numerous times he knew he lost to Norton all 3 times and knew he could never beat him. Joe Louis beat who? Club fighters. Holmes fought in a poor era and refused to fight Foreman back in the 70's when Foreman called him out. Holyfield beat a old Foreman, a old Holmes, a fat Bowe. Holyfield better than a prime Foreman? Only in your dreams. Lewis best wins were against a old Holyfield and a old Tyson. But yeah these people are above Foreman.
Foreman had a great jab, great footwork, didn't throw windmill punches. But yeah Foreman and Wilder fought the same.
First off you are new here. I post these technical breakdowns, and have been for a few years now. He my article on Old Foreman knocking out Moorer https://imgur.com/gallery/J4ukB. Here's my article on his destructions of Ken Norton and Joe Frazier. https://imgur.com/gallery/ZnjnB I've seen about a dozen or so of his other fights over the years since watching his comeback as a kid with my grand father. I'm familiar with George Foreman and have been since I was 8. I never said Foreman had no technique, but both he and Wilder are willing to go beyond the textbook to dig out every bit of power they can. Yeah. Those people are above Foreman. All of them.
Foreman absolutely did. All of the above. Foreman had better technique overall, was strong and durable enough to push back any one. Wilder has better stamina and a deadly right hand that he can land from a mile away. Both square up at times for power's sake. Both had serious killer instinct and were willing to go after a finish a bit harder than is advisable.
