Read the topic, great read, you should make more threads.

Personally I have mixed emotions about tonight fights...

I'm delighted for Simpson, i've always liked his no nonesense attitude and the way he has a go and I also think he is a much better boxer than people give him credit for. anyway, i'm not sure Simpson was back to his best or Appleby needs a very long rest after some really tough fights.
either way it was good to see Billy Nelson practicing picking up his fighter off the canvas, at least we know he will be "well prepared" in september.

As for Scott Harrison, let's be honest, that skinny, underweight 7 fight novice kid they dragged in from somewhere to get beaten up was never going to ask any questions and he never did. we will see how much the drinking and jail have taken out of Harrison when he is in a competitive fight. I am not understanding the love for him after that almost embarrassing piece of match making.

paul was great in the amateurs and when he first turned pro , but to many people promising this and that and being young and new to it all you tend to listen to what others tell you and you think they have your best interests at heart , but over the years i have came to the conclusion its all about money and nothing more .

Paul needs to take a we bit of time to reflect and think what he wants and needs .

Dunky please dont be blinded by a 4th round KO of a guy who had a letter from his mummy to allow him to fight,Scott looked very slow last night and a mile off the speed of world level.
Try and be realistic mate! John boxed very well last night, this is were you lack of boxing knowledge kicks in the better man won on the night end off.
And for you knowledge john never fled any nest he simply couldnt afford to travel to my new gym anymore,so again get your facts right:nonoyou like to think you know so much were in fact you dont

I know Billy, it looked like a body builder against a child in there last night! fact is though, scott only needs a few wins (not even good ones), and urns - harrison gonna be the fight people want to see.

Good win for Simmo... boxed really well, and i'm delighted for the guy.

Appleby... firstly, gotta say I hope he's alright. He took a lot of flush shots, and it was a bad, bad KO... I never like to see anyone go down like that. Billy - can you confirm Paul's condition for us?

Scott Harrison - give the dude a break. He's been out of the ring for a long, long time. Talking world title shots is premature, yes, but to his credit, he looked in good condition, moved well and put his punches together nicely. Most importantly, it seems that he has retained his 'nastiness', which is always going to cause problems for pretty much anyone he faces. Questions will be how he reacts when he gets hit back with something of note, and how will his conditioning hold up in later rounds... only time and decent opposition will answer these questions. For my money... I reckon he will turn the domestic/euro on it's head... not sure about world level, but I wish him the best on his comeback.

I was at the fight last night and John boxed really well, first time in a long time i have seen him start so positive from the first bell, kept catching Appleby time after time with cracking left hooks which eventually finished the boy off, was a cracking ko for John just hope Appleby was alright, for me Appleby needs to take a wee while off and come back refreshed he's only 24 years old and has plenty time but needs to figure out direction, Simpson had to win this fight last night and i thought it showed.

Harrison looked in tremendous shape and it's the first time i've ever seen him live, was surprised how small he was but he looked menacing. Scott needs a few more fights for me first before even challenging the likes of Burns but i tell you this it would be a sellout in Scotland that fight!

ahhh, dunkys back now the ***** harrison is back.

come on dunky:lol:,he didnt look fast,he was slow off the jab and his right hands were woefull, left hook was ok,but that was his main weapon, and the last thing you lose is your punch!

oh,im all for comeback fights being easy, but not against a kid who looked like the wind off a miss would ko the ****er:bbb

now,i loved harrisons style,my kind of fighter, personality,he is a mardarse ***** who thinks the world owes him a favour,i really hope he gets in with someone half decent and gets his ass handed to him,cos going off last night, its gonna happen buddy:thumbsup:deal

Harrison should fight arthur then take his MBE and stamp on it then down a flagan of cider in the ring , this whole scenario would last about 20 seconds then on to the rickster
