Aside form the big bucks on offer from K1 (which I imagine is huge motivation) Badri could've had a change of heart once he'd had some dedicated boxing sessions in the US. The penny may have dropped that there are some serious technical challnges to overcome if he wants to switch over properly and try to get to the top of the heavyweight boxing game. It may not have been worth it time wise, unless it was a serious ambition which I doubt. I agree with Flea it couldn've turned into a Kimbo type hype job, before an eventual embarassing beating once he stepped up the competiton.
Well I'm not aware of that. He had problems with his eyes and had various operations on them (detached retina). His style relies somewhat on athletical ability, more then other fighters with his kicks and flying knees and that might limit his career more then guys like Hoost, ...
