Yes mate when you see fighters regularly blame poor performance on their camp and preparation, Padley makes a mockery of it, straight off a building site on 4 days notice as part time professional fighter, he was in no condition to be fighting against someone like Stevenson but he took his chance and took his licks, and he was rightfully rewarded with a professional contract and changed his life.

I will be following his career and supporting him the same goes for Pat Brown he looks like he could be something special, he looks like an absolute beast, decent craic to been watching him on a podcast with Dave Allen quality banter between them. But you can tell how hard he is by the way Dave looks at him and the respect he shows him

 

100%, he can't go hard in early rounds against top level fighters as his defense is non existent when he's windmilling.

Any objective observer has Murtzaliev beating Kelly in that fight. Anything els is subjectivity.

 

Half of baks punches we,re body shots. Your always going to get more points with clear face shots than body shots imo. Especially when your making the opponent miss most of the night and countering well. Close fight.

 

Just watching the highlights and Murtzaliev looks surprisingly stale offensively. Looks like he couldn't adapt to Kelly's reflexive defense of feints very well. But these are dazn highlights lol.

I'm gonna have to score this myself considering the debate here.

 

I might come back with a more detailed verdict on the fight, admittedly I had only seen the Tszyu fight but for one thing all that boogeyman talk were really squashed last night no matter what you think of the scoring. It was close and Bakhram looked so beatable, I feel he lost last night, even with Kelly’s lack of power I think he could have potentially put more of a hurting on him, but that was potentially crossing a line between winning and getting too greedy.

Yes, I think Kelly is likely to have a short reign and additionally gets dispatched comfortably by the following, but I think Boots and Ortiz absolutely put a beating on him. Then following that theres a good bunch of names I expect at their best to also have a good night against him, Fundora, Madrimov, Zayas, I think you look at Brandon Adams and Bohachuk too.

Theres so much talk in this thread about him being wronged but judging that performance as a whole and with his perceived standing it was not enough to really send a message.

Weird thing to say this imo, “if he had have scored it to murtazaliev, as one other judge did” wtf is this all about? That’s not how it works

 

An average of under three power punches per round landed for Kelly; that is no way to win a world title.

 

Murtazaliev won the fight. Kelly was holding to hold and the ref protected him
