Need to watch more Ross just going off the Armstrong fight seems he wasn't the best against an great infighter so Duran probably wins? Idk I'm sure he beat some great infighter i never heard of but that's my initial reaction. Feel free to school me on Ross @Journeyman92

I haven’t watched enough Ross… @greynotsoold has been telling me to watch a particular fight of his for literal years, I’m on my 3rd rewatch of some HW fight he’d detest instead today lol.

That was the last fight of his career. He was a master of minimal moves, those little shifts in angles that keep you in a position where you can hit him but he can't hit you.

This would be a very good fight. Ross was every bit as good as DeJesus; better in my opinion.. The close range fighting would be off the charts.

How much better than De Jesus? I don’t really rate that guy, not much at all, when I watch him he shares a lot of the flaws Benitez had, no small coincidence they were trained by the same guy… both also happened to beat Duran lol.

Considerably better, in my opinion. If I decide to sit down and watch some fights with the intention of learning something, DeJesus wouldn't be on my list. Ross would be- more often if not always.

What's a good fight to watch to get a good sense of him as a fighter?

@greynotsoold has told me to watch Ross vs Canzeroni at least 3 years in a row… but I disappoint him constantly with things like Toney vs Foreman and Jimmy Young stuff lol.

This pretty much. I see Duran actually controlling the distance better based on the film I have seen of Ross. The infighting would be spectacular. I see Duran maneuvering a slightly better, a little quicker. A close decision over 15.

His fight with Billy Petrolle is a good one though, to be fair, it was Petrolle's last fight.
