If you were to bring back the prime versions of Barrera and Morales at 122lb where they both arguably looked better than they ever did, how would they cope with Caballero, Lopez, Vasquez, Marquez, Penalosa, and Gonzalez?
I think they'd be competitive in each one of those fights...I'm not sure about Lopez YET...He might give em some trouble though...Id favor them over any fighter in that list though...
I think Lopez would cause the most problems for both of them, because he has shown the power that could hurt any Super Bantamweight. That said, what will happen once he takes on a fighter with decent power and very good boxing ability. We'll find out once he fights Penalosa. I think this is going to be a lot more difficult than people are anticipating. Gerry is a beautiful technician, even at his somewhat advanced age.
How can a guy be a beautiful technician and loose to Ponce De Leon, by UD! BY KO I understand but to loose via decision by possibly the worst boxer I have seen in recent times in terms of technical skills is quite something.
I wouldnt pick Rafael Marquez against JMM and I wouldnt pick him against either MAB or Morales. Marquez & Vasquez are the 2 best BW today but IMO, both MAB & Morales were just a notch above.
