Yea, not trying to ruin you're thread... What Barerra did to the Prince and Kelley was amazing.... He fought his way through everyone and even in defeat came back strong... truly one of the best of the modern generation... heart, skill, speed, and just an overall will to win... At certain points he was amazing,, I wish he would have always kept that focus..

 

Trust me when I tell you, neither Boom_Boom or Renyo have any intention on giving insightful comments on a fighter outside of their homeland.

What kind of videos does this cat actually do for the Goosen's? Promo's for upcoming fights and events? Was this all based on his work on Youtube?

 

I think he lost to Junior Jones because it was a little to much to soon for the fighter who turned professional at 15, and that coupled with Jones being a stylistic nightmare for the ever engaging Marco. What's important is that he took his loss as a learning experience, and from then on, would only lose to the very best the sport had to offer in Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales. I'm not entirely convinced his career defeats were a result of loss of focus.

 

We can disagree on this... At these guys level it's very easy to slip for even 1 second, and at this level that matters... You seen him being great against guys like Sanchez, Kelley, Barerra, even Marquez..... But against Jones and Pac he just wasn't the same guy.... It happens to the top guys some times, they just fall off the wagon for a split second and thats all it takes... A for the second Pac fight well age and the previous fight weighed on that..

 

I think Barrera was irrelevant at world level by the time of the second Pacquiao fight, personally. I take your points though, all of which are valid, I just feel nothing could have prepared Barrera for the **** storm coming his way in 2003.

 

I think Marco's peak was between 1999-2003. It ended in the form of Manny Pacquiao, but that didn't stop him putting in wonderful performances against Paulie Ayala and Erik Morales in his next two bouts. I didn't see really any form of rust in the Tapia fight, I feel he carried his friend to a certain degree but dominated from start to finish regardless.
