It's good to see Barrett being seen as some sort of threat against Haye. Until we see what Haye has at heavy than he is a bit of a question mark. Barrett is solid, experienced, and has made a habit of knocking off prospects. But he is getting old and was never elite so if Haye isn't going to make it at heavy than Barrett will find out. But if he does him in impressively than he might have a big heavyweight future. Looking foward to seeing what Haye has.

I think all this controversy over Haye not being effective at heavy is blown WAY out of proportion.

He was KOing the best in the cruiserwieght division with relative easse, and his opponents weighing a bit more won't make any difference. Power at cruiser is power at heavy, period. This is not that much difference in the strength and power from one division to the next.

The shots that Haye took fighters out with at cruiser with would drop most heavies, as well. A few pounds won't make that much difference.

When you start talking about an overly big heavy, like the K Bros, or Valuev, or Virchis, or Briggs, then it'd make a difference.

But Haye in against the normal sized heavies, (6 foot to 6 foot 3, wieghing 210 to 230 lbs. or so) such as Barrett........Haye's power will have just about the same effect as it did at cruiser. I don't see the reasoning behind questioning it, given that he's been mopping the floor with fighters only slightly smaller. Barrett is not that much bigger than the cruiserwieghts are.

I think many on this site like to overcomplicate things in order to come across as deep and insightful. LOL KO power at cruiser is KO power at heavy, period. There may be a slight difference, but not enough to merit all this hoopla and questioning his heavyweight effectiveness, as I've been reading for so long, now.

Moving up in weight can be a hard propostion for a lot of fighters. Then the move from cruiser to heavy is by far the biggest jump. Haye is going from fighting guys 25-30 pounds or more bigger than him. Thats similar to moving up 2 divisions in the lower weights.

There is going to more than just his power to worry about, actually I think his power will be fine. But now he's going to be fighting guys who hit a lot harder so how will Haye hold up. He is going to be facing guys who have more height, weight, reach than he has before. Its a very fair question to wonder how he will handle the jump. A lot of cruisers move up but not many achieve the same success they had at cruiser.

Burt Sugar needs to dry up and go away.

Haye Ko 1, but Monte is always a live underdog.
