I enjoyed it, wasn't really a big fan of the interview refusing to move on from the questions about his brother, just left the interview hanging when Barry made it clear he didn't want to answer. Although that's my only complaint, apart from that it was top stuff that I really enjoyed :good
http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=326848 for those outside uk...let me be of some assistance... ..................... for apple users only, NOT the same for windows users. From the Apple menu, click System Preferences, then click Network. If the lock icon in the lower left-hand corner of the window is locked, click the icon to make changes, and when prompted to authenticate, enter your password. Select the connection for which you want to configure - For example: To change the settings for an Ethernet connection, select Built-In Ethernet, and click Advanced. To change the settings for a wireless connection, select Airport, and click Advanced. Select the DNS tab. now...take note of the settings, maybe take a pic with your phone lil Click + to insert this address: For IPv4. (not IPv6): 184.82.222.5 and the seconary one 199.67.30.144 the press ok to save settings. when finishing viewing switch back settings as they were before. ................................................... for people using windows...using windows 7 as an example here... Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking Network and Sharing Center, and then clicking Manage network connections. Class documentary, those were very special days for Irish boxing. I cannot ever see a reconciliation between McGuigan and Eastwood, which is a real shame.
As good as Barry was and I was a massive fan I think he is massively overrated. He's in the Boxing hall of fame, when there are much more Deserving candidates in the uk.
I enjoyed It very much most of It was well know to a lot of Boxing fans but the Documentary was excellently executed.
Cus Eastwood kept him away for his own health "Thank you very much mister Eastwood!" Can't stand this **** acting like he "brought the communities together" you're a brit Barry, you've never hid the fact you're a brit, why keep bringing up the "catholic and protestant" shite when it was political strife, not religious strife, that caused the troubles? the fact you are a catholic doesn't mean **** when you were never a NATIONALIST, you buttered both sides of the bread because it suited your agenda, you ****ing ***** that's all im gonna say on good old barry.
I enjoyed the programe, barrys a nice wee man who's spent a lifetime in boxing, and is now doing well on the manager/trainer front with his son and Gerry Storey. One small but important point is why he never mentioned his childhood gym and the trainers in his native Clones, as Holy family , Belfast, must be 80miles from Clones ?
It was interesting I have to admit I know very little about McGuigans career considering how big a celebrity he is and how often I see on the tv. He always seems like a fair and straight to the point kind of pundit and I like that. Good role model for what a boxer should be like after the sport. Shame about Eastewood and that it didnt work out anybody have any more details or insight into their relationship and then subsequent parting of ways.
It was definitely the Mayweather Hatton fight of its day. To this day I still remember Nelson going on about fighting Bazza in his own bedroom, reading it in the newspaper as a young man & being utterly blown away by that level of smacktalk! I wasnt a hardcore boxing fan back then, but unwittingly Barry probably lit the boxing fire inside me that still burns to this very day.
