Michael Brodie was kind of like McGuigan but not quite as good. I felt Brodie got a gift draw vs Chi in their 1st meeting. And then he got wrecked in their 2nd meeting in a very one sided fight. I was also impressed that Chi was able to be a very competitive vs a prime Erik Morales I'm not sure TBH I think it would be a very close fight on the cards but I think I'd go with McGuigan in a close decision. I was a bit more impressed with McGuigan at his peak.
McGuigan would outpoint Chi over 15. 10 rounds to 5. Sadly the 1986 desert of Las Vegas is McGuigans career graveyard. He fought in s tougher era of relentless back to back top fights and had a awful manager in Eastwood a guy who was poison to a fighters career ( see Herol Graham too). His comeback loss at 29 to McDonnell was an old pressure fighter whose heart wasnt in it fighting for money not prepared like before.
