I'm a big fan, Bunce, but it's all very well questioning whether Ringside will cover the Premier Sports title fights but I didn't hear you covering Gavin vs Cook. I can't help wondering whether you are also biased towards the stations you are involved with at the time as, after all, they are paying your wages.

It is understandable but perhaps it's not worth mentioning Ringside's bias as it makes you look a little bit hypocritical.

Errrr.... most weeks Bunce spends half his show covering fights that are shown on Sky. Can't see the issue.

I realise that but he's not normally involved with a conflicting station who are broadcasting a fight on the same night. All I'm saying is that in this instance, not covering the Sky fights when he is involved in the Premier Sports fights at the same time as questioning whether Ringside will cover the Premier Sports fights makes him look hypocritical.

Like I say, I am a big follower of Bunce, went to see him on his tour etc. but in this instance he should have covered the Sky fight if he was gonna question Ringside's coverage.

    Loz,
Here's the deal and thanks for mentioning it... Cook and Gavin is not on...at 7pm the SKY show on Saturday was up in the air. I spoke to people involved with the show and agreed to a) not have Gavin on and b) not mention the show just incase it fell out of bed. Thankfully, it was back on by about 9pm. That's the truth. Gavin had been booked for three weeks and Bellew for even longer!
If the show had fallen through and I had talked about it collapsing, it would have sounded like me rubbing salt into a wound.
Just to set the record straight. Also, SKY's Miami special made sense, trust me.
    "Viva, Adam Smith!"

    Adios.

    Buncey,

Thanks for taking the time to reply and it's great to know that there is a decent explanation.

I hadn't realised when I made the post that Gavin vs Cook had fallen through. The only reason I even made the post was because I was going to go to the fight and was looking forward to your pre-fight hype! Not sure I'll bother going along now that Bellew/McKenzie and Gavin/Cook has fallen through so I may end up in Wembley instead.

You're one of the good guys, Bunce. Keep up the great work.

    Loz

Can somebody post the listen-again details...the O'Donnell and Watson stuff crackled, Fury was excellent, Reid was quality at the top, Lynes was fantastically honest...it was all good. A lot of name checks. Spread the word and thanks.

    Adios.

o sky dont promote other shows and fighters a great deal but it would be idiotic to promote a rival card on a rival channel at the same time your channel has a card on , you cant criticise them this time

    Yes, I can be critical.
Or, make sure that all praise of SKY's Ringside show includes the words...'(it's great blah, blah, blah...)...but they only talk about their product and that is a journalistic insult.'
It is a million miles better than it has been, thanks to Adam Smith...just ask Howard Eastman how insular it was! He was the invisible man for years and had to look on as Britain's 'very best middleweights' fought for the WBF and WBU titles.
I'm not knocking SKY - without them we would all be struggling and I have been their biggest supporter for over a decade - but I think a bit of balance is necessary when people on this and other forums praise the new Ringside.

Balance is the word Buncey. You realise thats what we want when Haye is discussed on your show??
