That fight reminds me alot of Cain vs Kongo. Kongo is such an intellectual ****** that he actually neglected his striking and rather than keep his distance elected to wrestle with a wrestler and got pounded to ****. Complete tool.
It's not true. Boxing nuthuggers are just as deluded as mma nuthuggers. this like 360 fanboys vs PS3 fanboys...just enjoy your damn ****ing console instead of bashing the other system...same goes for sports in general. Most fans are hypocrites...As a fan of both sports..i'm the first to admit that a huge majority of mma fighters wouldn't stand a chance in hell in boxing...nor would they in mma IF...and only IF the said fighter is stupid enough to strike.... Watching this fight...you're wondering why in the **** does Kongo (a striker who's groundgame is absolutely pathetic) , tried to take Cain on the ground a couple of times...Why ? Sylvia is a Glass Jawed joke. It speaks volumes about how bad the people are that he beat. Arlovski is another Glass Jawed joke.
Remember - Fedor did it first. People are saying the same thing about Floyd not beating guys like Pac did but Floyd did it first. In a fight these guys are unknown quantities. It takes time to truly find out a guys chin, stamina etc Usually, these things are assessed in hindsight. Fedor had to assess these issues while being attacked. It's a whole different ball game. When Arlovski came in with a flying knee, Fedor had a choice. Play defence or take a calculated risk. He took that risk and won. It's like when SRL beat Hearns. SRL found him out. He did it first and thus he gets much more credit for his win than anyone else. You can't give guys the same credit for beating Zab as Floyd got. Floyd spotted the flaw and made it public. Then guys started treating Zab as a front runner and beating him more regularly. Fedor showed you what can happen to Arlovski and Sylvias chin if you dare to throw that bomb on it. He gave these guys the blueprint and as the architect his credit is more than others. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.
Sylvia is a good fighter, i can accept the Fedor loss, he simply got KO'd, the loss to Mercer is just an embarrassment, and a lesson to all MMA fighters who try and have a boxing match against a boxer. Is Sylvia a bum.. no, but he is stupid, it would be obvious to most people that if you are a mma fighter, fighting a boxer is going to be tough, especially if he is a former HW champion.
