The fury fight would be a good one around. Tyson goes in against a small guy but one on a good run of form who has been a capable fighter in the divisions below but with obvious physical advantages and Tony might think he has a chance of doing something against Fury who may not be what he was and has been put down by a small guy before when he was taking things lightly. Bellew is fighting for the prize of money - he's won all the belts one way or another, he won't be an ATG but he's done bloody well with what he has. He talks a lot of hyperbole but I dunno why people don't take it for what it is - it's just marketing.
Bellew is just looking after his own interests. There's no rule that says you have to buy into Bellew. I'm quite happy living my life missing all the Tony Bellew fights. The problem with many fans is that they buy into whatever Eddie Hearn is selling this week and moan about it at the same time.
He did call out Gassiev after the fight. No way he fights ANY of the big heavyweights. He is looking for the biggest payouts for the easiest fights now. He is 35 and at the very tail end of his career.
when haye moved up from cruiser no one accused him of ducking anyone (except the guy named after a ship or whatever), because the divsion was so poor. there is no way he would have moved up had he been around with todays crop and the wbss. bellew has chased easy money, thats fine of course but it comes at the expense of being taken seriously as a fighter. haye already had his career and his defining fights, there is now a good chance bellew probably never will. and people tell me hes been well promoted having turned his caeer into a sideshow for the last 2/3 years instead of going and doing what fighters used to do and what he claims he does, which is fight the best and prove himself.
fighters start the game for the titles, the want to be the best, the challenge. On the most part they end the game looking to make as much money as possible for when they retire, its a short career. People tend to forget that Bellew is 35! not 28-31 10 years ago people would prob laugh at you if you suggested that Bellew would be world champ winning it at a sold out Goodison Park, move up to HW and go on to headline 4 PPV's and become a the lead role as the opponent in Rocky! The success (at least financially) that Bellew has attained through boxing blows anything people would have thought out the water. He has been managed as well as any fighter I can ever remember in the history of the sport. I also think Bellew would be first person to agree with just about everything I have written. If you or I had the chance to swap our careers and lives with Bellews i think I know what just about every person would do.
The problem imo is you get these idiots who just think Matchroom and their fighters are these elite machines. This weird cult that has developed, although may be good for putting bums on seats and PPV numbers, just dont really know what they are watching.
Haye was washed up and it is almost disrespectful to his legacy If Below is the man he should fight Dillian Whyte This is a fight that would be easily made as they are from the same stable and the fans would love this fight
Haye brought himself out of retirement. Had his two comeback fights and Tony called him out for what he was there and then. A con man. Do you remember? You all laughed and said Bellew would get sparked out. He knew it was an earner so yeah he created a fake beef and made absolute millions out of it and ended Hayes poor attempt of a comeback.
He wanted the millions don’t get me wrong but I think Haye genuinely thought he could still mix it at the top. I think he will be devastated at losing to Bellew, twice!
Na Haye would have known better than Bellew how bad shape his body was in and how easily he picks up injuries now. He might have thought he could get lucky but Haye keeps himself in good shape so he trains to some extent all the time he knows his body inside out. (and other guys if go by the rumours on here!)
On a side note is usyk that much of an unbeatable monster for bellew. Heard great things about him...but only got round to watching him for the first time last night. Against Joe Joyce in the wbss thing. Was slightly underwhelmed tbh. Obviously the guys improved but is there a chance that cruiserweight divisions not quite as good as made out due to entertaining fights in the super series. Good fighter...cleaned up in the amateurs...doing great in the pro,s but you,d think with Tony's pro experience/run of form hes got a chance. Say at goodison. We know usyk looks the more skilled etc...but the guys had 14 fights in the pro,s. Hes 31/32 himself. Bellews a wily ****er. I m not all that sure hes not got a chance in that fight. Everyones just assuming it would be a foregone conclusion. Usyk isn,t a golovkin.

One second he is punching him in the face, then in a split second he switches to the side of his opponent, and again and again, peppering him with shots. His footwork is sublime.
