Not if they watched the whole show. On balance it was a good nights boxing let down by the main fight. Another reason Tony needed a quick rematch because he needs to remove that fight from our immediate memory.

Even Buchanan and McGowan couldn't do it in Scotland. Watt did because who he was fighting. At the time Howard Davis was about as big a name as you could get. O'Grady, another name in the states and of course Charlie Nash, an Irishman and a Scotsman.

that seems a low figure i was expecting more as it got a lot of promotion on sky

i think spanish football gets more than that and im guessing but i expect it to be cheaper to put on per game than live boxing

i really think boxing should be scheduled to be on when it has chance to have most sports fans available to watch like during international break in football when there is no match of the day or live prem football on.

also more in the summer when there is no football at all i can never understand why boxing needs to have a season it already has a break mid dec til mid feb why have another in the summer aswell

Its a pretty good number for Sky boxing. 95% of Friday Fight Nights didn't break 100,000

it was a saturday on ss1 featuring 1 of matchrooms biggest name fighters - if sky just want to break 100k viewers then it was a success if not what figure would be classed as a success??

Agree with you here. Football will always take the casuals away from boxing.

sky and boxnation putting events on the same nights isnt too clever either when they are fighting over the same small amount of viewers boxing just doesnt do it self any favours.

still dont agree that these ratings will be seen as a success when its arguably sky and matchrooms 3rd most hyped fighter and was hyped by both as a huge event

although if brian rose gets the same ratings next week then i think it would go down as a huge success

I agree with you Rob. I think a days test cricket in the English summer struggles to get much more than 250k viewers even on a saturday and sunday when most people aren't at work. How many did Froch get watching against Bute and Mack?
