David was injured years ago, how am I gonna use YouYube & Twitter now for the next few days! Bellew is gonna say things...............**** things.
Bellew as around 4/1 to win by TKO. Fair play to him. Haye had some power but was for all intensive purposes 'shot to bits'. Sad end to his career. Can't stand Bellew but he done a job on Haye tonight.
I'm just glad Bellew didn't get the satisfaction of putting him to sleep. At the very least Haye kept getting up and the ref prevented a tasteless ending. Haye's clearly shot to pieces and likely didn't spar more than the entirety of the Scott footage that got released. It's a shame but hardly surprising. I'm actually intrigued to see just what Bellew has to offer now. It's hard to gauge where he's at now that we know Haye's done but I'd love to see if he could clip one of the top boys at cruiser. I also don't understand this aversion to the heavyweights, he was once an absolute menace on the amateur heavyweight scene. Speed kills.
Really made up for Bellew. A sad end to Haye’s career but let’s be brutally honest, Haye’s career finished in 2013 with the shoulder injury. And that achilles injury was sickening. He was a class fighter in his day and we shouldn’t forget that. As for people suggesting Bellew had no power because he couldn’t put Haye away in the last fight, well he made him do the chicken dance tonight. The only surprise for me tonight was him doing it so early. I honestly thought he’d spark him in the championship rounds. Bellew is a very good fighter. Unbeaten in 10 fights now since moving up to 200ib+. Hope he finally gets a bit of credit now.
Gr8 post m8. Bellew was spot on and I have said it in a post before it's so much easier to knock out some one attacking you instead of sitting on back foot knowing your coming at them. Bellew has a better boxing brain and boxing fundamentals than Haye has ever had. Haye back in the day at Cruiserweight was great to watch, a cheap man's Mike Tyson (compliment). But his style was based on speed and explosive power not great boxing fundamentals. Bellew is a terrific all rounder, student of the game with a left hock to rival anyone's in the world. How good would he have been if he was a career Cruiserweight ?
There is no shame in Tony's record and he has (over) achieved a lot in his career but he has avoided all the best cruisers and beaten a heavyweight twice who was not fit to fight. His defining fight is the Stevenson loss were he was comprehensively taken apart. He is certainly a better boxer than people give him credit for but he is not a heavyweight contender nor is he competitive against the top cruisers. If he takes the Ward or Usyk fights and looks good I will be forced to change my opinion but Tony and David have made a lot of money out of conning the public tonight. Haye should not have been in the ring.
Yeah...was shocked Haye looked even less fit than for the first fight...was knackered after a round or two... Bellew has another payday in him...fight usyk...
Ward, Uysk, Whyte, Povetkin, and Stevenson. Any of those be fun fights. Big fan of Bellews as I am Fury hope they don't fight, only one winner and it ain't Tony.
Thanks bud. I think we were in the minority who felt it would pan out like it did. The first fight should have been stopped in the seventh imo anyway. Bellew shouldn't have had to render him unconscious to stop it, he was hitting him hard but credit to Haye he was rolling with the shots. Bellew is a really good boxer with solid fundamentals. He is a 200ib+ fighter all day long. In hindsight, he must wish he started his pro career at cruiserweight. I strongly believe he beats Stevenson at 200ib.
Just on Haye, he came in at 15 stone 10ib on the scales. He walked into that ring looking well over 16 stone. I’d probably even go as far as 16 stone 5ib. That extra weight is no good for a dodgy achilles.
