Thoughts?

Don't personally see that he deserves a world title shot really, but it's rare that boxing seems to work that way. Seems the only titlist he isn't talking to is perhaps the weakest in the division as well.

Bellew is a mug.


All three of those beat him soundly.

 

Not remotely interested. He's a crashing bore in and out of the ring.

 

If it happens I'll be watching just to see him get KO'd. Infuriates me when they show that clip of him screaming at the camera. So gauche

Good fighter and beat 3 good opponents which leaves him comfortably in the top 10 of the division and when there are 4 titles he definitely deserves a shot at one of them. Whether he wins or not is another question but he does have the power to cause upsets so I wouldn't write him off yet. I believe he loses by KO to Huck, gets out pointed by Hernandez, but I would give him a very good chance against Lebedev and Drozd as I don't think they are too good, clearly good fighters but certainly not unbeatable

 

Bellew beat three nobodies. He doesn't deserve ****. He's a doorman masquerading as a boxer.

 

He's got some nerve demanding to have the fight in his back yard saying how he won't go to Germany to fight huck, newsflash mate he's sparking you silly, will make you want to get back in a ring with Stevenson

 

Huck hits harder than Stevenson (not in a p4p sense), he'd put bellew out cold.

Unfortunately and Tony will be well aware of this the challenger is in no position to make demands, make them you get bypassed generally

 

You summed that up as succinctly as anyone could. Not many people in boxing have me reaching for the remote quicker than Bellew does. Be it fighting or talking his usual hot air, Tony numbs the mind very quickly.

 

Very unfair comments on big Tony guys, he's in the worlds top 15 so is eligable for any voluntary defences, good luck to him

 

Brudov isn't a nobody, Cleverly certainly isn't and you would know that if you knew anything about boxing, Dos Santos you could argue was a nobody but he had a very good record and had never been put down before and Bellew sparked him with one punch so he still has to get some credit for that. At the end of the day he has challenged for a world title twice so to say he is not a good boxer is just ridiculous, hes not a world beater and he would admit that himself but he doesn't get any credit purely because you have some hatred towards him
