I don't think people understand how much energy both Fury & Usyk had to devote to their two bouts in the last year. That was a hard loss evidently for Fury to take...but he can be happy that he did perform to a high level, enough of a level that he could easily compete and beat all the other men in the division. Both are on the slide no doubt...but both can still win and given Fury lost his last two bouts he will want to retire on a win. He looks at Dubious, Parker, AJ, Bakole & Kabayel and he sees EASY pickings. One arm tied behind the back easy. Fury will return and he will win.

It's refreshing to have belt shots on the horizon without Fury. Joshua or Wilder. As long as he isn't gifted a shot at a belt Fury comeback is ok.

Division has moved on. I will watch a Joshua fight but nothing else.

I know this is a hate thread, but fighting:

    Wilder
    Wilder
    Whyte
    Chisora
    Usyk
    Usyk

In the past 5 years is pretty good competition for the modern once a year fighter.

If he comes back, I bet he gets stopped if he fights a live body.

I wouldn’t say easy, but I will say I do think the Fury of either Usyk fight would be a favorite against everyone except Usyk. He’s still very viable and is not washed.

    Chisora
    Wlad
    Wilder
    Whyte
    Usyk

I listed Chisora because at the time both fights were meaningful domestic level fights, which are a big deal as usually British heavyweight champions do well at the world scene.
Whyte was still widely considered to be a legitimate top 10 contender. Anyone should get credit for fighting top 10 opposition.
But thats about it. Wasted most of his time in retirement and then the Wilder trilogy.

Awful resume and an overrated fighter that many past heavies would have dealt with imo

I do give him credit for the Wlad win, and his resume itself isn´t that terrible... if it weren´t for those long caps in between significant wins.
It was absolutely ridiculous that they spent 3 years on that Wilder trilogy. I did appreciate the Whyte fight at the time because it was two back to back fights against ranked opponents - exactly what you want from champions!
But then it took him 2 years to get in the ring with Usyk... wtf?

Not an ATG caliber resume. Barely a HOF worthy effort.
