How is this man coach of one of the biggest prospects in boxing ?
He had one job and that is to stop Itauma from outpacing himself and failed miserably.
Itauma should fire him and get someone with experience

A ****ing amateur could close the show with that lead. Weak. No stamina. No brains. No chin.

Tbf it was also Itaumas fault he was trying to finish him off. But Davidson is definitely not a great coach. No notable fighter has improved under him. The only thing he teaches is a good straight right hand

I'm surprised it took so long for one of you nitwits to start pointing the stinky finger at Davison.

Ben Davidson had Itauma lifting heavy weights, benching 315+ pounds, as if that translates into boxing. And you wonder why he looked gassed by round 5.

Idk why I get the idea he's like a football manager who may be amazing at everything regarding preparing the team outside the match and motivating them and drilling tactics from a board or video analysis. When it comes to the actual match he doesn't seem to be able to influence the game at the right moment where it's crucial to take advantage of something or exploit an opening or anticipate a coming problem from observing events happening gradually. He seems to often lack something when he really needs to influence a fight and adjust the strategy he's meticulously prepared before the bell goes.

One thing I have noticed with Davison's fighters is that, even if they initially appear competent on a mechanical level, they can't seem to read a fight at all. Usually I would put this down to the fighter but you see this in every disaster that happens to BD fighters -- they keep boxing 'by the numbers' (Ben's 'gameplan' which usually consists of an occasional jab to the body and a massive overhand) when it's doesn't work or is even actively harmful. The **** poor corner work seems to show this too. No ability to read or adapt. The fact he hired a literal YouTuber also doesn't inspire much confidence.

Personally, from what I've seen Davison can teach boxing on an absolute basic mechanical level but he has no proper idea on how to read a fight, nor any understanding of the sport on any real deeper level. Itauma needs a new coach, maybe McGuigan.

Said it before and I’ll say it again, he’s got a smart brain, but he’s an assistant he’s not a head coach.
