Gomez won via wide decision, 97-93, 98-92(x2). He boxed Tackie very well in the early going, ripping him with combos and counters, but Tackie was very tough, and kept coming forward throughout the fight no matter what was landed on him. In the second half of the fight, Alfonso slowed down a bit and Tackie was able to make some rounds interesting, but there wasn't really a round you could say he definitively won. Looking forward to Gomez vs JCC Jr if it happens.
Good Post! I thought the 98-92 scores were a bit wide, but 97-93 seemed about right. Tackie was the perfect opponent for Alfonso at this point. I don't think he has fought anybody else who just keeps comin' at ya like Tackie. Alfonso showed could poise and ring generalship. It did seem like he was slowing down from round 8 on, but who wouldn't with that kind of pressure in your face all night. Anyway, Gomez does seem to be getting better all the time, and his handlers seem to be doing a good job picking his fights. I like the kid. I hope things continue to go well for him. Boo
judges score cards Hatton Vs Tackie.. judge: Tony Walker 118-110 | judge: Jean-Louis Legland 120-109 | judge: Edward Marshall 120-109 hatton looked great that nite
Both Hatton and Tyszu put on a clinic against Tackie. In terms of boxing, it was Hattons best technical performance. He won pretty much every round.
Any body know any way I can see Hatton vs Tackie? I would love to see that fight, pure pressure vs pure pressure.
