I could see it, as others have stated benavidez is used to being the bigger man, I can see gvozdyk nailing (excuse the pun) him over and over again with the one two and really offsetting benavidez’s rhythm and benavidez is sloppy when in terms of the footwork department he stands straight on all the time.
Despite his retirement upon his return Gvozdyk doesn't look like he has lost a step; I was surprised by the ease he dispatched Bolotniks. If this fight materialises then I fully back the Nail to get it done.
Pre Beterbiev Gvodzyk would KO that fool inside 10 rounds, right now I don't know. He is not young, but still managed to be active. He fought 3 times in 2023.
I don't want to see Beterbiev vs Gvodzyk 2. Maybe Beterbiev can move up and Bivol can fight Gvodzyk for one of the vacant belts. Benavidez vs Beterbiev would be a short fight Benavidez vs Bivol is like 12-0 for Bivol. still not interesting.
Gvozdyk is going to get his ass kicked. Besides being a hypejob who made his name the way most of these PBC guys have done so (off the hype they build up against no-hopers, hasbeens and folk on the backend), Gvozdyk is old, slow and weaker, and probably smaller than Benavidez despite Benavidez coming from 168.
It's a good fight I won't count the Nail out it all depends on what he has left after the Beterbiev fight. Good on Benavidez though for moving on and not letting the Ginger dictate his career.
You can't accuse Canelo of ducking Benavidez if David is moving up to campaign at 175. If Benavidez were serious about fighting Canelo, he would not being doing this, he would be staying at 168. If he's not able to make 168 anymore, then he shouldn't be #1 contender. It makes no logical sense for someone who is said to be being ducked to literally run away from the weight class you're supposedly being ducked in to campaign in another weight class.
Gavril dropped him and he was getting tagged by Kyrone Davis and Andrade. If the Nail is anywhere close to his peak, which he has looked good recently, a stoppage wouldn't surprise me.
Tbh I just don’t think Canelo will ever fight him, and the ABC soup organisations will do nothing but protect him. Moving up makes sense, just bizarre the WBC announced they were going to make him mandatory and now announce he’s moving up.
And you are doing the opposite. Gzozdyk admitted to Benavidez kicking his ass in sparring before. If the fight happens David stops him. Of course when that happens the haters will say Gvozdyk was shot.
LOL you fan boys are pathetic. 'Refuse to give Benavidez shot, then when he gets fed up and moves up claim its not ducking, and its Davids fault for moving up.'
