Yeah, that's fair enough. Just a bit frustrated with the state ofnthe two divisions, right now.

 

Would think this boy was Prime Usyk and not a guy who had two very tough fights with a worse version of Bredis than Usyk faced.

 

People always nit pick wins on here but Jais two biggest wins and the whole reason for his hype dont get that treatment for some reason

I think its a pick em - 50/50 fight.

My worry if Opetaia gets in close and gets swarmed with those ridiculous combinations by Benavidez. Its not like Benavidez is a hype job, he is a very good and proven fighter!

 

Either version of that Bredis folds Benavidez in half.

Not really. Jai is much bigger, is an extremely big puncher, and is a bad style matchup for Benavidez. Gvozdyk, Morrell, and Plant all outboxed Benavidez for long stretches of each of their fights, and Ramirez had a fair bit of success backing up Benavidez just thanks to being bigger, and he's a flabby LHW while Jai is a proper cruiser. Benavidez got rocked by Morrell and Roamer Angulo; he's not especially hard to hit, and that is not a good thing to be when fighting Opetaia.

 

Opetaia dunks Benavidez' head in a bucket of soapy water & mops the canvas with him.

 

I still favour Opetaia. He is a lot faster handed, harder hitting and has much greater punch variety than Zurdo.

 

I mean you do have some good arguments, I can still defo see Opetaia winning. In terms of stylistic match up, this is why I think this fight is really interesting considering how effective Benavidez has been against outboxers, and how dangerous he is in close.

There have been fights where Benavidez has been outboxed in some moments, but even against good outboxers, he finds a way to win still. And this has happened on quite a few occasions against Plant, Andrade, Morrell to name.

For me: Opetaia V Benavidez is a great match-up that we will hopefully see! Rather than seeing Benavidez against bloody Moses Itauma.

 

I'd lean Opetaia. Benavidez is good and it's obvious Canelo ducked him when he was at 168. That said, I think an elite outboxer will win against him. I don't think Bivol is an easy match-up for him either.
