There is no way to change Public Opinion after that interview which was a complete disaster for Benn, Matchroom and DAZN UK. The latter two should seriously consider cutting ties now to limit damage or forever be associated with cheats.
Not so long ago, this interview would have been done by Kugan and that would have been enough. The spin and propaganda would have done it's job and people would have started to move on but I think boxing fans have started to become really disillusioned with the sport and how murky it operates. They were hoping tonight would have softened public opinion, put a bit of doubt in people's minds as to whether he is guilty and started to turn the tide but yet again it seems to have done the opposite. The more they squirm and try to protest innocence, the longer and harder the backlash.
Is the Pacquiao fight set in stone? Seems to be the only name Hearn is throwing at us like it's already agreed.
The interview was like a proxy of the whole saga, contradictory, bizarre, illogical and confusing. No wonder the public interest is still burning bright. As much as Benn and Matchhroom would like this all to die down, the way this has been handled is ridiculous.
Some credible journalist needs to put together an article or a video or something detailing all the misinformation and bluster coming from benn and a catalogue of all the lies, and show how easy it would be to prove innocence if he was innocent. Would shine new light on it all
I wonder what the next Hearn interview will be like, my guess is he will focus on Benn's mental state and try send everyone on a guilt trip.
It will be very interesting to hear Eddie's next interview when questioned about this, I genuinely wonder what direction he will take, even he must know that was a disaster and any chance of winning over the fans/public is pretty much gone now. The biggest question of all,who on earth has been advising him! The last couple of months, the social media, the interview literally couldn't of done more damage to his image if they tried!
