I see the Matchroom paid interviewers like that Parsons, the snivelling lapdog, now start off questions about Benn with 'everyone is sick of the situation dragging on'. No, everyone is sick of the constant attempts to bypass 2 failed tests and if you had any b0ll0cks about you, you would push on that but when you're getting free trips to Orlando and Cancun you're hardly going to be impartial are you? By the way, I reckon that Parsons reads this forum. He seems to think he's the voice of Boxing fans worldwide now.
Spot on. Hearn and Benn are cheating scumbags. It can drag on as long as possible for me as it’s funny watching what’s left of Matchroom’s integrity continue to dwindle and even funnier that Benn’s career is getting wasted. That Parsons is an absolute gimp. He’s getting just as bad as Slobbery Koogz. 2 blokes devoid of any real friends who just cling on to Hearn, or ‘Edwardinho’ as that little overgrown child Parsons puts it.
It's been just under one and half years since he last fought. By the time all this mess is resolved, he may have been out for longer than if he just accepted a ban in the first place.
Except it wasn't a semi retired fighter in his 40s though, was it? Liam Smith would beat the **** out of Benn, but then he'd never dare get in the ring with him, too active, capable, and under 40.
Agree with your sentiment here - too much of the online channels are too close to their subjects. In the political space it's called "client journalism", those who don't challenge power because their access depends on their not doing it. Personally though, no hatred for Parsons or Cassius. It's just important to remember that they're much closer to cheerleaders than journalists. Simon Jordan's done a good job with a lot of his comments, but has gone in too strongly with some of his accusations and made a bit of a fool of himself (Robert Smith said… etc). Important that we all support outlets who do their job properly. Boxing News is the obvious example, I really need to sort out a subscription to the magazine.
I think we should be careful about building this guy into a heel, till he makes a fortune from people wanting to watch him getting beat. I don't want him in a ring at all, whatever the result if he's there through swerving the disciplinary process.
That's a fair point, but unlike similar characters of the past with a similar schtick (Eubank snr, Mayorga, Mayweather) it was done with a twinkle in the eye, and even the baddie Giant Haystacks was played as a cartoon character. And the three fighters mentioned could really fight, and fought their contemporaries , Benn has done nothing of the sort. Benn is just an entitled, unlikeable individual, and while I will watch a replay of his inevitable defeat, there's no way I'd knowingly put money in his pockets by paying for a PPV
Yep agree with that. Parsons looks like a cabbage patch kid from when I was younger. Basically disgusting.
Yeah I do agree mate. Ideally he'd never earn another penny from the sport but unfortunately this is boxing and it's inevitable that he still will get paydays based purely on his name. However I definitely see him getting KTFO in the not too distant future and am looking forward to that day.
