But according to the doctor having that masking agent pop 7 weeks ago and the cycle not being present in terms of performance it wouldn’t have an effect. No idea how true but there is a reason Eubank was comfortable to carry on the fight
No B sample because they were prepared to keep it a secret until the Daily Mail leaked it. When they do a test the sample is split into 2 - one is the A sample and one the B. It’s possible for a trace to be in one sample and not the other - hence why they split it into 2 samples as it’s easier to detect in a lesser amount. What isn’t possible is for a trace to just randomly appear in someone’s sample
As I said. I’m no doctor but the doctor Eubank appointed and paid said otherwise to you. Maybe he stated the actual scientific enhancements given. I’m not justifying it and it’s rife in the sport. But it’s what likely took place
Who cares what a doctor said? It’s common knowledge that this is what the drug is used for. Used by recreational gym rats all over the country. All this doctor is giving is a slant and an incredibly one-sided explanation. Means absolutely **** all. It’s crystal clear what Benn has been doing. Just need to look at his physical development. And yes, totally rife in all sports. Also Eubank wanted to fight. It was in his interests to have a doctor explain to him that the fight was ok to proceed. Most Doctors know **** all about PEDs anyway, I have many doctors in my family who don’t know much at all about different PEDs and how they can be used in sport or bodybuilding.
There have been examples within boxingbwhere then sample comes out clean or a false positive is presented. I’m not saying he’s clean and he likely did pop. But from a Matchroom standpoint it comes down squarely to liability of the fight and contract position. Conor could at this stage sue for 8 figures plus. Hence keeping him firmly on side. plenty of fighters have popped before and the public forget 3-4 years later take the fury family for instance
Probably true. He has failed a test but the board don’t recognise that test. the biggest thing to come from this is there needs to a universal governing body and a universal testing body that overseas boxing on a global scale.
Who’s going to fund that? Can come out of fighters’ purses for mega fights but not at lesser levels. The sad truth is that the only real solution to the problem of PED use in sport is to legalise it. Would hardly change things anyway since pretty much all elite fighters will be using something.
It is somewhat similar to being stopped by the police because you are driving too fast. I can't tell the policeman that all the others are also driving too fast...
I haven’t forgot. Cheats should be banned for life and in my opinion face criminal charges. This isn’t the 100m sprint or a game of tennis - you’re taking illegal substances then punching people in the head. Benn should be banned for life and Hearn should have his license removed for trying to get the fight on. I’d say the same if it was my favourite fighter.
Dunno, Woods said on that Maxi Hughes card the other week that this fight is ‘more than 30 years in the making’. Benn is only 26 FFS!
