I think negotiations are dragging because Stiverne isn't as easily convinced to take a dive as was Scott. Hopefully, they will get it ironed out soon.

It's not yet July and the fight is for November they still have a little time to announce it. Don King is a notoriously tough person to negotiate with. Usually takes time. Plus there is a lot of money behind the Wilder camp people are heavily invested in him succeeding and it makes for a long process.

This is actually a good fight. Either Wilder gets exposed or he gets a good win. Furthermore, when this fight is over a unification fight with Wlad becomes possible. The sooner it happens, the better.

King should contract Charlie Z to fight Stiverne after Charlie's big win over Wilder in a gym "fight".

Sadly, as bad as Arreola has been outboxed, he's got fast hands and tough chin....

Stiverne, as good a CPer as there is today, is slow of foot, and lacks a true defense outside his lean and cover.

Arreola would have a much better chance against Wilder than Stiverne....

Not saying Stiverne is goona get steamrolled......he shouldnt, he should be able to weather an early assault and put Wilder on the back foot with his jab.....

But Arreola, otoh, could come right after Wilder and blitzkreig him....much like he did to Mitchell...take the fish out of water sotosay, ie...putting the puncher on his bike.

I have Stiverne about a 65-35 favortie in this one.....
I would have Arreola at a 85-15 fav....

Still....good fight like you said...two top 10s having it out....Pulev will be bumped from his #2 spot by then, and the winner would arguably be #2-#3 depending on if Glaskov and Potvetkin havent made and won big fights themselves.

If you're a Klitschko fan you almost have to route for Wilder to win. Dealing with King will be incredibly hard, and I honestly don't see any unification with King in the mix, until way down the road when perhaps if Stiverne still holds the belt, he feels Wladimir has really dropped off. Plus if Wilder was to win by a KO and keep his streak intact and also defeat the next Mando of Perez/Jennings by KO, combined with the exposure those 2 fights would get state side on any network. The idea of a 6'7 American, with 100% KO ratio, versus the long reigning lineal champ, who some believe is only successful because of his height, would be an easy sell and promotion

They could have the fight made for tomorrow, nothing unexpected would take place. Deontay is 6ft7in tall and is in perfect lean muscular athletic shape whereas Bermane is a 6ft2 1/2in tall chubby roundshape guy who is not that mobile but can punch too. The keyfactor is that the Bronze Bomber Wilder smashes anything he lays his right hand in and due to reach advantages and mobility advantages it is difficult to see or imagine Bermane not getting tagged. On the other hand, Stiverne, may be the first man to absorb those bombs and use his skills like the fast circular right hook he hit Arreola on the temple with and had Arreola's legs into spaguetti in their 6th round of their fight. But playing safe, it's Deontay, taking his time, and flattening Bermane sooner or later, Deontay knows it, Bermane doesn't know it, Don knows it fo'sure and Klitschko is just waiting.

Good take.....all Wilder has is that R hand.....and Berman is something of a stationary target for it....

That said wilder has a better chance of winning a title vs Stiverne than Arreola.
I think even Chagaev has a higher probabilty to beat Wildet than. Berman.....

If Wilder wins the title he'll lose it after his 1st or 2nd defense....he might beat Jennings but Perez would starch him and so would Takam, DelBoy or Fury.

Wilder needs to prove he belongs in the ring with Stiverne first. Number one contender or not.
If I were Stiverne I would fight the Perez-Jennings winner instead, take on a real no1 contender, and force Wilder to take a stay busy fight, or 2.
Wilder really should get in line behind the winner of that fight.

Just shows how pathetic the HW div. really is. Parity beyond belief. There's Wlad, and then a bunch of hacks. Deontay couldn't even KO Charlie Z. Really speaks volumes about the talent level. And with the cowardice on top of that...shameful.
