Bermane Stiverne vs. Deontay Wilder speculation & discussion

IB, who do you think wins Wilder-Stiverne? I say Stiverne.

...but I don't rate Stiverne very highly (let's face it, all he ever really did to be taken seriously was twice beat Arreola...who never proved himself a legitimate contender himself, and who fought on pretty even terms with Stiverne before the stoppage in the rematch, and before the broken nose the first time...) ever since watching geriatric Austin box his face off.

Stiverne is probably more skilled than Wilder and may hit not quite as hard but in the neighborhood - but he is hardly impossible to hit clean and if Wilder catches him at the end of a long-range bomb...

Even if you don't like the premature stoppage in his loss to Demetrice King, the fact is Stiverne did get badly hurt by King...and if King is able to badly hurt you...


As long as he isn't picked off from a distance, if Stiverne can get inside and start tearing Wilder up with hooks, then yeah, advantage Bermane.

 

Stiverne won't even get much credit if he wins. People will just say that he exposed the fraud Wilder.

True. I honestly won't give either man too much credit. Neither will deserve to be called world heavyweight champ once the dust settles.

 

Possibly not, but I doubt he cares as long as he's well-paid. He'll be looking at a bigger fight after that.

 

At least the winner will be champ for a while as the winner must face Jennings....he troubles nobody at this level.

 

Jennings could school them both, IMO.

 

He might school Wilder but not Stiverne. Jennings didn't really convince me in the fight against Perez.

 

Are you kidding me? Jennings has those long-ass ****** arms, similar to those of Bill Nye the Science Guy and Sonny Liston, he would shut down Wilder with just jabs and straights.

 

Oh? And when did Stiverne convince you? Arreola I & II?

Because, for me, it's going to require a lot more than Arreola I & II for me to forget about Stiverne vs. Austin, before Austin ran outta gas.

 

IMO it won't be Wilder defending it though,I have Stiverne to beat him if he can connect at all....in which case it will be Stiverne vs Jennings,Perez was lazy/overweight and gassing against Jennings and it was still close so by that logic any decent top ten beats Jennings.
