At 40 years, Hopkins by decision. Both at their best at mw? Robinson by decision but only because he is Robinson and it would be so close that people would argue for decades who really won with both sides having good arguments.

Well if Robinson is one-dimensional, maybe we should re-evaluate Sun Kill Moon, another one-dimensional fighter.
Interesting matchup. I would have to pick SRR. I think he would just have a little bit more left in a close decision.
I think SRR was shot at 40, Hopkins was a little drained at 40 and would always have problems with Robinsons speed. His lack of workrate plays into Robinsons hands, but I think Hopkins is much nearer his prime Prime for prime Robinson wins, 35yo-35yo Robinson still probably wins

Hopkins at 40 was not at his best at all. He was badly faded at the weight and was slipping into an overly technical style of fighting that made it very difficult to get a clear win. Taylor beat him twice (although I scored both for B-Hop) by basically holding his own most of the time and then throwing one or two combinations per round which was enough.
