I watch that video and thing that stands out to me is, the complete lack of class A competition in it.

Pac will overwhelm Berto. But it's still a good fight.

Berto is slower than Cotto? :huh

Collazo fight was 2 years ago and styles make fights. He had a tough fight, so what. Look at Pac-Marquez II which was only 8 short months before Berto-Collazo.

Berto has looked great since then, albeit over less than stellar opposition.

Truth is, Berto deserves the shot.

Manny will stop Berto, Berto doesn't have a hope in hell.

I also believe Berto has better initial hand speed. He can get his punch to target faster than Pac. However, Pac is better at throwing faster and MORE effective combos. They are more accurate and they come from different unsuspecting angles.
Berto tends to loop and telegraph his follow up punches. His initial punch is good, but you can see from a mile away where the next punch is coming. He also gets a lot of his shots in the pocket, where Pac does not like to be. Considering his bigger size, I doubt Pac will do head-to-head pocket trade.

Berto has also mediocre defense. Limited head and foot movement.

So the question is really, can Berto cut off the ring and get enough 1-2 power punch combo to slow down Pac and prevent the 3-4 counter punch he will receive.

Can Berto provide enough head and upper body movement to make Pac miss those power punches.

Cotto is probably the best point of reference for a Pac vs Berto fight.
Cotto has good hand speed, decent footwork and limited head movement. Berto is faster, but has poorer technique and less defense. IMHO of course.

So by that, I say mid to late TKO - some where in the 8th round.

It is also possible he catches Pac with 2-3 punch combo that drops Pac. Depending how early in the round gets a stoppage.

style makes fight... i don't care if Pacquiao KO cold berto in round 1 but i think it is interesting match up... Giving shot to the new comer..

I'd rather watch Pacquiao vs Berto than
    Pacquiao vs Mosley
or Pacquiao vs Marquez at 147....

When Mosley fought Mayweather still there are some of the fans thinking Mosley has a shot to KO/TKO Mayweather specially when Mosley KO/TKO Margarito... but when Mayweather whoop his ass... Mosley become grandpas overnight...

Marquez can't bring his skill and reflex at the higher weights... Pacquiao doesn't want to go down on LWW divisions... He's comfortable at the Welterweight division.. not cutting on weight... closed on his walk in weight...

As far as i know.. Pacquiao is not the kind of fighter like IF,Would,Could beat any fighter in the fantazy match-up..

When Pacquiao fought Barrera... Barrera has a lot of experience than Pacquiao but Pacquiao gave him a beating... It's not a matter of experience...
It's a matter of will, heart, states of mind and athleticism...No matter How skilled you are but when you're body can't do what you're mind want to do... It's over...

but still.. i'm rooting Pacquiao KO/TKO Berto at the late rounds...

Berto is a hype job. Having said that, he has a A LOT better shot than Mosley.

if manny beats berto so easily then why is he avoiding him like the plague?

berto is a young, undefeated, black american champion. And, and the most important part of all, at emanuel's OWN weight, no catchweights and just straight up 147 for a unification. Everybody here keep bringing up that collazo and forbes fights but every great fighter has had his bad moments with lesser skilled fighters, and i could bring up lots of examples of great fighters having bad moments with lesser opponents.

You guys just want manny to fight and beat up on old aging fighters again marquez and mosley who again just like hoya and hatton were money may leftovers, *******s i swear:-( you lot are whats wrong with boxing

Infact its much more the opposite. Comparing Berto's overall talent on one fight with Collazo is beyond idiotic. Every fighter has an off day, what matters is having the heart to get that W.

Berto's speed and explosiveness is what makes this fight intriguing for me, at least in the first 1 or 2 rounds. Pac's footwork and timing however would inevitably spell Berto's demise.

    Pac TKO 5

Styles make fights. Berto can beat Manny to the punch and by the way Manny can land combos but only against a target that is there for him to land those combo's. The fans and critics also said that Manny was to green when he faced and then beat Marco B. the first time too.

Berto has fast hands. So does Manny. Manny has been tested against strong guys who throw a lot of punches. Berto hasn't. Berto can't comment on Manny's defense, because Berto's defense isn't any better.

I will say Manny KO Berto before 9rnds. And Berto will probable never be the same.

Berto TKO in the 7th round, he is a young hungry beast. Pac won't fight berto because he is too young for him
