i had round 1 for Collazo and round 4 a 9-9 round. Its the only round i didn't see entirely. I missed about 20 seconds. From what i saw, Berto won a close round.
I had it 114-113 Berto but it could have been a draw or gone to Collazo. BTW that jude who had it 116-111 Berto never needs to judge again.
Collazo rarely stopped throwing punches the entire fight to take a breath. Berto was supposed to win and he did. I predicted Berto, but the whole story is that he didn't really win...he just had the decision.
There's alot of truth to that, but Collazo won pretty clearly from what I could see - and I was shitting all over the kid during the fight. Those shoe-shine combos to Berto's body were having an effect, pathetic as that is.
San Rafael - Collazo did seem to fade as the fight wore on, as did Berto fairly early. That kind of surprised me, from both men. I know the pace was high but that still kind of took me back. You're right -- there were times when Collazo just wasnt throwing.
Berto is the HBO house fighter, and he gets the nod in a fight the other guy one, close but clear. And one judge scores it a ridiculous 116-111!! Smells quite fishy - particularly given the point deduction. That should've cinched it for Collazo!
I believe you are misinterpreting his actions. In my opinion he did this because he could feel himself running out of gas, as was evidenced by his exhaustion in the 12th round. So this accomplished: a) Giving himself a rest for the championship rounds and b) Psyching out Berto. And it worked because Berto did not make him pay at all in fact he was tentative and waited for Collazo to throw when he did this.
