Just see a lot of holes in his game that fighters like Mayweather Pac and even Mosley can easily exploit.
Horrible idea for him. 140 is gonna be tougher for Berto: Kahn, Bradley, Maidana, Alexander, Campbell, Marquez, Malignaggi, Ortiz, Diaz, Hopkins, Peterson, and the list goes on. At least he can prob wait til the top 3 guys at 147 (Pac, Mosley, Mayweather) retire or vacate which most of them will within a couple years.
Berto would probably beat all of these guys. Berto is being compared to great fighters, which is why people are down on him. Nobody at 140 is a great fighter.
That was inexcusable and most people around could not keep a straight face. Then Chris B and Bow Wow was in the audience...lol. But nothing is worse than Tim Bradley's rappin mutton chops 80s christian warrior dude.
Berto is no bum of course not. But I just dont think he is improving his game. When he first touched down I thought he was the heir to the 147 throne once May/Pac/Shane are out. But he seems not to work on his flaws b/c he gets away with it cause of his hand speed/strength. We all know that catches up to you and I got him not being the man he was set out to be. But he is a good fighter none the less and he beats mostly everybody at 147 except the top 3.
TKO aside. I think Quintana lost that fight before it started. That ref seemed bought. Here's my score card and some notes: Q B Rd 1 10 8 Q getting warned for rabit - not rabbiting. B was knocked down. Rd 2 10 9 Rd 3 8 10 Q -1 for turn and hitting. Yes but could have warned. But Berto not back handing and rabbiting. Rd 4 10 9 Ref breaking anytime Q was getting to Berto on inside. No less than twice. Berto not warned for pulling head down and hitting. Berto rabit again. Rd 5 9 9 Q round but PP from Berto good. Berto finally warned for rabits Rd 6 10 9 Rd 7 9 10 Ref breaking when Q on inside working again. Rd 8 TKO'd Ref again breaking when Q on inside. Berto rabiting... Stopped fight. This is a fight where a standing 8 count is needed. Most people dont realize that Berto (along with Bradley) fought at 168 lbs in the Amateurs. I was a Berto fan before this fight. Now I am not due to his in ring manners. Also think Mosely would have KO'd Berto.
WTF? He would easily beat everybody on that list other than possibly Bradley & Alexander. Kahn?.....Campbell?......Diaz?.......Hopkins?.......Malignaggi.... The guys not that bad, what you been smokin?:rasta
