I remember Cotto being criticized for facing Bailey then it thought he actually deserved some credit for facing a pretty dangerous puncher like that. Cotto's title run at 140 was actually pretty good when you look back at it.

Bailey was mando before, the IBF sanctioned to Berto vs Zaveck under the precondition that the winner fights him and Bailey got some step aside fee and a fight on the undercard and no one had a problem with that..

Berto deserves credit for dumping his belt to face the more dangerous fighter.Nice that HBO will be paying for a match up like this and not just throwing money at Berto to beat up on lesser guys. Good to see this rematch is happening but I don't think this one will be quite as good as the first one. Not sure about Ortiz but if Berto wins this one I can see him getting a shot at Mayweather or Pac sometime in 2012.

People have already mentioned Clottey & Margarito being stripped by the IBF for facing Cotto. Also like to add Vernon Forrest & Winky Wright were also prior to their unification fights with Shane Mosely. Jermain Taylor was stripped for giving Bernard Hopkins a rematch (who defended that IBF title over 18 times prior).

But after losing to Carlos Baldomir, they allowed Zab Judah to keep the IBF title for his fight with Floyd Mayweather -(because of the Don King connection, oh yeah, Corey Spinks who was owned by King at the time, fought for Forrest's stripped title).

Zaveck drop on rankings to low but he sure does deserve to fight for it. Same as Bailey. Zavec - Bailey for the new/old WW IBF champ! :good

I just saw on the IBF website that Zaveck has dropped to number 8. How did that happen. Wasn't he the champion a fight ago, and only lost on a cut in a fight he still had a great chance of winning?

Didn't want any part of Randall Bailey IMO

Berto is to easy to hit, Bailey would have put him to sleep.

i expect that after Joan Guzman picks up the undervalued IBF Caribbean Welterweight title next Friday, he gets rated by the IBF and gets a title shot soon. That or go straight to a Khan fight, if Amir doesn't duck.
