Sigh. In boxing, it seems if someone isn't knocked cold, there will ALWAYS be someone to complain about the stoppage. Quintana's legs were GONE. He was spent. He was cooked, finished. He had absolutely nothing left, and was being tagged cleanly and at will. It was time to save him from going out on a stretcher. He didn't have the presence of mind to take a knee, and needed to be protected at that moment in time.
No no... I was just asking... I noticed a milisecond of shane ripping up a philly shell medicine ball and I think he knows what he is doing for his floyd fight.
I don't completely disagree with you. Mosley, Pac, Mayweather, Cotto would all derail Berto if he fights them the way he did tonight.
Oh, you were asking about how I see Floyd standing up to a Mosley assault? I don't see Floyd allowing Mosley time to get in a sustained attack in the pocket. I expect Floyd to use his footwork and stay to the outside. I expect Floyd to use his jab more than he sometimes does. If Floyd lays on the inside with Mosley, he can get himself into trouble. Mosley knows what to do and has the speed to execute. Floyd's a great infighter, but he's best off to not let Mosley try to dig him to the body too much.
I hope he can actually fight differently, or at least learn how to fight differently and improve. Because if he can't, this is as far as he can get.
His jab was solid tonight, well timed and was snappy. He just failed to do proper work behind it. His 1-2 should have been even more effective because Quintana chin was there to be hit all night. He also needs to learn to to better setup his uppercut which is nowhere near as effective as it use to be now that he fighting better competition.
Certainly a possibility. Cintron packs a big right. I however question that guys heart and, to be honest, I don't like giving him any credit due to his dismal behavior in past fights.
