Off balance? These were deliberate spoiling tactics straight out of the Bhop handbook, trying to smother Zaveck and avoid getting hit again by charging in with the head. Why do you think he doesn't put his hands up to protect himself?

 

I don't even mean surreptitous butting, I mean headbutting where either one or both fighters are shamelessly at it and both fighters, the ref and the crowd know what's going on.

You're right to say it's not legal, but some referees are going to be more lenient towards headbutting than others. As long as both fighters are given equal leeway when it comes to foul play (even if one fighter chooses to fight clean), you can't call a bout stopped on a cut caused by a headbutt a "travesty".

 

Obviously that's pervasive. For exaample, what conceivable reason would European fighters like top heavyweights Povetkin and Wach have of picking out, out of all the trainers in the world, a New York City Jewish Russian Mafiya violent career criminal like Atlas, except they've been told what you just said?

After that Byrd-Oquendo fight, Foreman said that boxers need to stop standing there and meekly accepting it, as Oquendo did. He also said that those were "the best judges that money can..." And then they fired him.

Every honest observer of the boxing scene knows how corrupt it is, worse than ever. It's gotten so bad that it surprises me whenever there is an honest decision by the judges.

Please. Berto wasn't using his head. In fact he was holding Zaveck wrong where Zavecks head at times bashed his head. Totally inadverdent from both sides. Berto brutalized Zaveck. Zaveck only won round 4. No butts caused any damage. Bertos forehead between his eyebrows was swollen a bit because of Zavecks head.

It's not hating Berto saying Zaveck got robed. I am nor a European nor an American, but: an American, fighting in the US, with American ref., supported by an American tv (saying it was probably the left hook) an Zaveck gets what he gets. I would hope that Berto would give the guy a rematch, or would like the IBF to order it. The fight was pretty good anyway and a rematch would really be interesting. Berto is exciting but an illegal blows like that one should not give you a belt.

That is todays excuse. Yesterday, these guys were like Zaveck was in the fight, and Berto got lucky. It was incredible reading this crap. Zaveck didn't even say Berto was deliberately butting him nor did he complain about their heads coming together.

 

I agree. Zaveck was matching Berto IMO but he was beginning to really feel the heat and berto looked strong to me, very strong.

I'd love to see a rematch, but as the gif shows, he got clocked on the ear, fell into zavek on the jaw and then tied him up.

 

Berto practiced that in the gym for sure, look at his technique there, head down using the top of his dome to inflict damage.
It might not be deliberate but he sure knows how to use his horns when the opportunity arises.

Damn shame. I was like Zaveck's chances at stopping Berto late.

 

he's black so he knew what he was doing despite the other guy butting berto and a few rabbit punches. This fight was give and take and berto hurt the other guy more than he hurt him. The body shots did a lot of damage and a left hook ****ed his eye up. This was a good close fight and no fugging way can you dingbats say the other guy was going to win and even winning.

 

Damn I'm sick of you bitches crying and making ****ing excuses after every fight your fighter doesn't win, the damage to Zavec's eye was caused by a punch...I saw no deliberate headbutts nor did I hear Zavec or his corner mentioning a headbutt, it was a good close fight I had it 3rds to 2rds for Berto...

As flawed as Andre is I'm a fan of his for his heart and will...Zavec can bounce back he looks like a grind em down type fighter so he can make for some interesting match-ups...now all you ****-boys who keep whinning about headbutts need to pull the tampons out ya pussies and find another sport to watch damn!!!
