Juan Manuel Marquez... and anyone who says Pacquiao doesn't understand proper punching technique or leverage because a lot of what Pacquiao does is throw pitty pat punches because he's always bouncing around on his toes. He hands fly around real fast, but only a small percentage of those punches have mean intentions behind them.

Are you kidding? I disagree. If anything, Pac throws punches fast with good power. Did you see the combos he was throwing versus Dela Hoya, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, etc?

Just like Joe C or Paulie M?

I don't know how you see it but pitty pat punches don't crack bones or disfigure faces.

Watched Pac in the gym for years, JR, drop and flatten much bigger fighters with those "pitty pat punches."

If any of you knew what you were talking about I'd be upset at the backlash, but since you don't I'm not.

JMM is a the better combination fighter than Pac due to the variety of punches he uses but to say that Pac uses pitty pat punches? I don't see anything to prove that.

Would you agree John that compared to Pacquiao, the percentage of Marquez' combination punches are thrown with better leverage behind them?

JR used the word pitty pat, but I think thats just the wrong word to use when describing Pacquiao.....

.....but I think what he means is that when Pacquiao throws a 5 or 6 punch speed blur, maybe 1 or 2 of those punches really has real leverage behind it.....though that one or two have good leverage and real hard snap to them.

When I see Marquez' combinations, it seems that a better percentage of his shots are thrown with such fine technique that each of them has sound leverage and snap behind it.

    [yt]Hv7zyil9QwQ[/yt]

best combo from pacquiao, he's an aggressive guy, what else can we say?
    [yt]NbitClyz3e4[/yt]

    result: TOTAL WAR!!!

these two are the best combo punchers in the business. hats off mofos!!!

Ive been impressed by JMM's stamina in the ring, and he's about 38-39. that's a good feat for an old man in the ring. Hey divac, does this mean JMM has been using peds too? lol. Dont get me wrong, Im a fan of JMM too. If I were to choose what style will I pick from the two, I definitely pick JMM's combo style.

JMM's combo counters are beautiful -- textbook perfect.

Watching Pac spar, it's easy to dismiss his combos as pitty pat arm punches -- until you see the affect on sparring partners.

Asked him one day after dropping a sparring partner and breaking the ribs of another how he punched so hard throwing -- what look like -- arm punches.

He giggled: "I watch the tape. Think the same thing"
