He also won the under 17 European Championships and Junior World Championships so he's never lost as a Junior at a major tournement either. He won Gold at the Olympics in 08 at 20 yrs old. His 1 known loss was at the 07 Worlds where he won Silver. That his only loss since he's been on the World stage since 2007. Make of it what your will.

He utterly dominates and outclasses World Champions like Selimov and Vodopyanov.

Tysons was something like 24-2, he lost twice to Tillman which is why he never made the Olympics. Thats not accurate though, ive got autobiography and its in there......somewhere. Ill need to check it up

However he got his revenge on Tillman in the pros though :good

Great question. Many people bring up the fact that his build wasn't suited for the pros...others mention his conditioning. Not sure but he was a freak of nature by that divisions standards.

my 11 year old has 5 losses to the same kid ....yet he destroys him in sparring when we go 2-3 minute rounds.....even dropped him with a strait right.....problem is at 1 minute rounds the kid just runs then pitty -pat then holds then runs some more................my son has gotten to the point now he just laughs at the other kids antics in matches and says I will get you in the gym next week !

He had a good pro career but many believe that, with his physical attributes, he should have been dominant...Tommy Hearns dominant. He never should have lost to Starling in a million years although Davis would always have been a tough matchup for Mark. He was past it against Vaca but the Starling loss is inexcusable.

Mike lost to Craig Payne, Ernie Bennett and Al Evans between 81 and 83. Its a well known fact he lost to Tillman twice in 84, but at least one of them were a horrid decision.
