I remember before Hatton fought JLC, Steve Forbes - sparring Hatton - declared that Hatton would stop JLC, with a body shot in the fourth round. Pretty ****ing accurate. Heard any better? or any really inaccurate ones?
i remember someone(on another forum...) predicted Afolabi to stop Enzo in the 9th. It wasnt really given any attention until after the fight. Most people still thought enzo had plenty left and he looked physically strong(we know now that lifting beer kegs aint ideal prep...) and Ola was pretty much unheard of
On the old boxingranks.com msg board, a poster called Dr Z predicted Rahman to ko Lewis in the 5th with a right hand.
Bernard Dunne picked that as well. My best picks Hopkins to school Pavlik Mosley to batter Margarito (thought Margarito would see the final bell though) My worst picks Cotto to beat Pac Judah to beat Clottey
I had Margarito to beat Cotto and Hopkins to beat Pavlik..... But I also had Margarito beating Mosley :nut
At the time that was certainly the majority pick, I just had the feeling that Mosley's speed combined with Margarito's last few fights (Williams, Cintron, Cotto) and the punishment he'd taken plus rumours of him struggling like hell to make the weight that Mosley would pull off a demolition job.
I had a bet when I was 6/7 that Red Rum would win the Grand National. I won a bottle of Champagne and had to endure as my family sat around me a drunk my winnings :-(
