i will get shredded for this but im going to go out their and say mayweather he was/is a brilliant ring general if he wanted to he could just hold the ring. he has great movement in his legs and can move away form anything. he has great upper body movement and reflexes he can slip punches an inch from his face. and he is incredibly hard to hit up close just watch the hatton fight hatton must throw about 50 punches a round up close but only hit with 3 or 4 clean shots
tabin i dont think roger made him more attackive i still think he was pretty defensive if you look at his early fights its all in and out stuff constantly moving. but when he gets to about light welter thats when he goes all defensive
suppose i thought the opposite of defence is attack so the opposite of defensive is attackive but i was wrong
Im not sure if attackive is a word, but hey im british... (the opposite of defensive is offensive BTW.)
i can see where tabins coming from with mayweather getting roger as a coach but it was the opposite of his career
Mayweather's defense gets vastly underrated on here, along with his overall ability as a fighter when getting mentioned in general on other threads.
The more I consider Locche, I'm inclined to make him #1. 116 (?) fights, only 1 stoppage loss, and that on a cut eye near the end of his career, he smoked alot just like Monzon did, and he was a true defensive genius.... yeah he's the best, followed by Whitaker, Loughran, Pep and Benitez.
