Is that really neccesary? Especially after GSP vs Serra.

Hughes is the most dominant welterweight of all time regardless of what you think about the guy.

I think the furthest I have ever jumped off of my couch is when Hughes elevated Trigg and ran him across the ring in that fight. It was insanity.

Nog vs Cro Cop is probably my favorite though.

A bunch of good ones this year. My contendors for FOTY:

    Dong Sik Yoon vs Manhoef
    Griffin vs Guida
    Diaz vs Gomi

Yup. GSP put on a flawless performance that night and treated and beat Hughes like a mere sparring partner :deal :deal :deal

They're one and one. Even. GSP has a long way to go before he can even scratch the legacy Hughes established.

maybe that's a bit rude, I can't take away Hughes accomplishments, but at the same time who has he dominated? he was getting pummeled by BJ for 2 rounds until BJ's injury. Hoyce Gracie? that was a joke really, Joe Riggs? he's a gatekeeper at best, Trigg? a decent journy man who was dismantled by GSP and made look like an ameteur. some other Jap who had no business being in the ring with him and before that he had lost to BJ. He has beat all these guys but with better fighters in the division now, I don't see him domonating anymore, that's why Dana gave him another easy fight with Lytle then directly to a title shot.....Matt's his boy!

No, not really. GSP already has an unbelievable resume and has beaten the same top fighters that Hughes has.

Also, you can get technical and say they are 1 and 1. Or you can use your brain and rationalize the first fight as a learning experience for GSP. He made a mistake in a fight in which he was winning. Also the second fight answered any and all questions about who is the better fighter.

Wow, you really just hate Hughes huh?

None of his wins count, nor any of GSP's losses I guess. Matt is 9-2 in championship fights, should be 10-2 but Riggs didn't make weight, GSP is 1-2, its not even a close comparison.

And for the record AJAX, that jap was Hayto "Mach" Sakurai, who absolutely belonged in there, why you would think otherwise is beyond me.

And Lytle is not an easy fight for anybody, he should have been awarded the decision over Serra in the TUF finale and had the fight with GSP.
